Grew up in the Military, and we moved a lot.  This was my Dad's advice.

I took Dad’s words to heart and gave it my best try,
Finding beauty in places, though sometimes I’d ask why.
There were moments of struggle, times I felt so alone,
Wishing he were here with the wisdom he’d shown.

When the path grows hard and I feel a strain,
I sense his touch and could hear his words once again.

Though he's no longer with us, his memory is dear,
