Kurt Lorenz - Granularity

Growing up,I  studied music theory and learned classical piano until I lost interest in my teen years. Fast forward decades later having not touched a musical instrument, I found nanostudio which was the catalyst that rekindled my desire to play/create music. As much as I liked nanostudio, I really wanted to play actual hardware. Today I own a few hardware synthesizers including : Roland JX-3P , KIWI Mod Roland JX-3P, Roland Juno 60, Novation Ultranova, Kurzweil K-2000VP, Korg ElecTribe EA-1 , Korg ElecTribe ER-1 and an Alesis SR-18. Recently acquired a Casio WK-1630 and a Yamaha AN1-x from my dad who has been a professional musician most of his life. I am also just starting to indulge into plug ins and now have in a very small manner used Alchemy which is an amazing plug in, Many thanks to Marko Ettlich of the Retrosound Project for patiently helping me in the beginning ; guiding me in the right direction for hardware selection. The last 8 months has been full of experimenting , learning subtractive synthesis, learning proper mixing, etc. Also a very special thanks to Micheal W for also patiently teaching me and sharing his knowledge in music production. I've had the great pleasure of meeting some of the finest musicians here on the cloud  who have been inspiring and very helpful. The most rewarding part for me has been the fellowships and friendships I've discovered. I'm always eager to help where I can. However, with a following that continues to grow, it has become impossible to stay on top of everyone's music. But I try my best. If you have any questions about anything, message me and I'll do my best to help. I've seen a trend how some people will follow looking to expand their fan base and drop people in the grease. I teach in US higher education (in a STEM field) & am a hobbyist composer writing in a few different styles. I recommend headphones. All of my music is released under a Creative Commons Attribution/Noncommercial license.

My bandcamp page is getting out of date again, but some older albums there can be downloaded for free or for a name-your-own price donation.

Multi-instrumentalists Joe Love & Kurt Lorenz are an electronic-rock/industrial duo from Seattle WA. They have been playing together since early 2013 but each has more than 20 years experience creating, producing & playing music. 

Joe is an accomplished guitar player and instructor whose style ranges from classic blues to hard rock to experimental textures. He has played with local Seattle bands Loaded Fiction, Alien Autopsy, and Black Atmosphere. 

Kurt has been producing electronic music since the mid-1980’s and has released material on several independent labels. He was also co-founder of Ember Music, an international artist-run electronic music label. (2010-2020)
