I’m Rodric King, a Singer/Songwriter who began my vocal journey in 2009. I spent countless hours each day studying vocal techniques on YouTube, determined to improve my voice. To conquer my fear of singing in public, I challenged myself to sing aloud daily in a local grocery store for a week. The reactions weren’t kind, but with the support of a more experienced singer, I gained the confidence to keep going.

After refining my vocal skills, I spent three years performing at karaoke venues. I gradually gained confidence and noticed that people started to appreciate my voice. It was then that I decided to take my music career seriously.

In 2012, I wrote my first song, “Because I Win,” and recorded it at Patchwerk Recording Studio in Atlanta. Although it didn’t gain much attention, it was an essential step in my journey. By 2015, I left Orlando, FL, to explore the national music scene. I performed at karaoke nights, open mics, and even impromptu shows at gas stations—doing whatever I could to be discovered.

My big break came in May 2016 when Krislyn and Luis Rojas of Eklectic Entertainment discovered me online. Krislyn came across a video of me performing Michael Bolton’s “When a Man Loves a Woman” and invited me to join the Blonde Ambition band as one of the lead singers. This opportunity was life-changing, and I soon became the lead vocalist for the Latin Ambition band.

Today, I continue to perform with Eklectic Entertainment, one of the top entertainment companies in Florida. I play at weddings, conventions, corporate events, and more. These experiences have been invaluable in helping me grow as an artist.

My viral Unchained Melody cover was the result of years of experimentation. Early in 2016, I needed to understand what aspects of my vocals resonated most with listeners, so I experimented with different styles and analyzed their responses. Once I discovered what my followers loved about my voice, I focused on finding the right song to match that style.

After recording a few songs and paying for views to gather data, I found Unchained Melody—the perfect fit for the sound I wanted to deliver. I shared my version everywhere—live, karaoke, pre-recorded, acapella—hoping for significant results. But for years, nothing happened. I eventually moved on and forgot about the video.

Then, out of nowhere, it went viral on YouTube. Since then, it’s had multiple viral moments over the past five years, and my fanbase has grown exponentially.

I’ve also been writing new music and engaging with my fans in preparation for my 2025 releases. With over 32,000 followers and a solid marketing strategy, I’m poised to take my music career to new heights in 2025.

In December 2022, I released my first book, “The Life That Brightens The Light.” It chronicles my journey of quitting my corporate job to pursue music full-time—sharing the struggles and triumphs. This motivational book is designed to inspire anyone facing challenges on their journey. I also give readers an honest, behind-the-scenes look at my mindset throughout the process, offering insights into what it takes to follow your dreams.
