BT is a man of quality over quantity, and despite creating no less than 7 studio albums throughout the over 15 years of his career, it’ll never be enough for fans of his ever-evolving sound. There’s no style or technique that BT can’t handle and that’s exactly why his tunes work so well. After months of high chart positions for his latest collab, ‘Must Be The Love’ with Arty and Nadia Ali, BT returns with a new pre-taste of what’s coming. ‘Surrounded’ is going to be the next thing on your mind, for quite a whi le. From the flashing synths to the dubstep intermezzo’s, warm breaks and melody. Featuring the vocals of UK singer Matt Hales, better known as Aqualung, ‘Surrounded’ simply gets under your skin. 

Super8 & Tab, the Finnish dream-team of trance, bring out the uplifting in ‘Surrounded’, while MK makes his remix hard to pigeonhole, yet flirting with prog-house. Tony Awake brings out the most experimental remix of all three, ticking the box on breaks, prog, down-tempo and much, much more.  The Au5 & Fractal remix closes the deal with a break-beat tipped interpretation, warm and flowing

Dinky delves further into her Chilean roots while softly embedding the rhythm of the night with next single ‘Blind’ from the album ‘Dimension D’.  Inspired by old Jazz of the 30s and 40s, Dinky weaves a beguiling story with the acoustic swing imbued with her own electronic touch. Stepping up for the first remix are part-time collaborators Hreno and The Mole who deliver the MHMD Remix stripping almost entirely the original’s voice and melody, instead leading with a carnivalesque drum groove and frayed, oscillating synths. Scandinavian disco lord Prins Thomas keeps the melody in tact but encases it in a framework of spaceout spooky disco for his ‘Diskomiks’ and fantastic moody Dub.

Alejandra Del Pilar Iglesias Rivera was named Dinky by her sister at birth. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, as a child she studied Ballet and the Suzuki method of piano before relocating to New York to become a contemporary dancer.

Her drive to make music brought her to Berlin a decade ago where she quickly became a dominant force in dance music, making her mark through releases on Carpark, Cocoon, Ostgut, and the critically acclaimed ´Anemik´ album in 2009 on Mathew Jonson´s Wagon Repair. Her fifth studio album, ‘Dimension D’ on Visionquest sees her evolve into singer-songwriter and performer and take on a new musical direction.

Chris Hreno and The Mole are both revered Canadian producers residing in Berlin who have joined forces in the past on remixes for various labels including Turbo Recordings, Haunt, and Souvenir. The Mole has had prolific solo output including his exceptional debut album on Wagon Repair ‘As High As The Sky’. Hreno has made a recent comeback to production with EPs on Sound Architecture and Meander.

Prins Thomas is widely regarded as a pioneer of the space-disco sounds emanating from his native Norway. Joining forces with Hans-Peter Lindstrøm in 2003, the pair both have a background in bands - Prins being an accomplished bass player - and they run and release music on own labels Feedelity, Full Pupp and Internasjonal.

Visionquest 033 is brought to you by the unique sonic voice of Hamburg trio Wareika, who weave a distorted jazz looseness into the pulsing and ever-evolving analogue framework of ‘Madame Scorpion’. A teasing raw live composition with a tribal heart, the undulating percussive groove rolls beneath haunting strings and an expanding soundscape until space opens up for a rising melody and Florian's deep absorbing vocal. Veteran German house producer Henrik Schwarz turns in a magnificently wonky remix on the flip.

Wareika started as a project in 2007 and the vivid interaction of the three musicians, Henrik Raabe (Guit, Perc), Jakob Seidensticker (MPC, Arrange, EFX) and Florian Schirmacher (Voc, Synths, Perc) forms one of the very few bands in the electronic worldwide circuit.

With a collection of shining releases on prestigious labels such as Connaisseur, Eskimo, Future Classic and Circus Company, and three studio albums on Perlon, liebe*detail and Tartelet Records, Wareika’s style ranges from Balearic to deep Techno, jazzy House sounds and from Balkan-Jazz to dubby riddims but always retains the smart intellect, depth and dynamism in composition Wareika is known for.

Their thrilling jazz-marries-techno live shows will now be captured on vinyl and CD with a fourth full-length album ‘Wternal’ recorded in one 65min take and due on Visionquest in October 2013

Henrik Schwarz has amassed a cult following for his compelling live sets and releases over the past decade and is now one of the most in-demand artists on the dance scene. Championed by the BBC’s Gilles Peterson early on, Henrik’s magic touch now graces the catalogues of inspiring labels such as Innervisions, Moodmusic, BBE and his own Sunday Music.

We called it Bubbling and it was very famous in those dark underground sleazy clubs. I felt inspired to give it a new twist...You might not understand this but it is part of my musical background!

For this anniversary release, Above & Beyond look back over the Anjunabeats’ legacy by mixing 10 timeless tracks that remind us just how forward-thinking the label has been over its 10 years. As well as Above & Beyond’s own classic ‘Can’t Sleep’, tracks like Bart Claessen & Dave Schiemann’s ‘Madness’ (I Prefer This Mix), Signalrunners ‘These Shoulders’, Daniel Kandi’s ‘Breathe’ and Smith & Pledger’s ‘Northern Lights’ still sound as visceral, energising and uplifting as they did the first time round.

Of course, Anjunabeats is a label driven by forward motion and it is for that reason that Above & Beyond present a second of disc updated and reinterpreted versions of those 10 classic tracks, with highlights including a melodic house-influenced remix of Mat Zo’s ‘Synapse Dynamics’ by Russian trance prodigy Arty, a dark, throbbing tech transformation of Super8 & Tab’s brooding but euphoric ‘Helsinki Scorchin’ by Bart Claessen, and Super8 & Tab’s respectful, futuristic version of Above & Beyond’s ‘Can’t Sleep’.   

To celebrate this landmark release there will be also be a 10 Years of Anjunabeats party at The Gallery (Ministry Of Sound) on Friday 3rd December featuring an Anjunabeats All Stars line up of Kyau & Albert, Mat Zo, Bart Claessen, Oliver Smith and Nitrous Oxide in the Box, and Anjunadeep favourites 16 Bit Lolitas, Jody Wisternoff and James Grant in the 103.

Did this remix in 2005 and always break it back out for the Holiday Season.  It has appeared on a few random compilations here and there so some of you might have heard it.  I only had the 2 track to work with so I had to get tricky but it's fun and I got to put my slant on this classic, enjoy!

Ok people if you missed the show last night I have uploaded it here, we had loads of fun last night with my good friend Medlar from the Wolf music Stables, was a 3 hr pure vinyl back2back playing all kinds of house music. 

I know from Speaking with Medlar that he really enjoy's these back2back show's, it's our third one to date and we are planning another one in the near future.... might even do a hip hop/rnb mix, which I don't think I have ever posted one here before...
