Kyirim’s music chronicles his journey from the isolation of growing up in as a Moonie, to his struggles with addiction and the highs and lows of growing himself as a husband, father, and human being. Kyirim started breakdancing, rapping, and writing, at 12 in Ontario, Canada as a way to process his emotions. His journey is not ordinary, but the themes in his art are universal as he ponders where he comes from, who he is now, and the kind of impact he wants to leave on this world. Kyirim draws on freestyle rap and underground boom-bap hip hop roots as he speaks to spirituality, loneliness, and ultimately, the lifelong struggle to be a better person.
