Rabbit Hole

A collaboration with Torbjørn Vagle and Jimmy Rivas.

I sent a demo of the song with the basic chord sequence to Torbjørn  and Jimmy in the hope they would consider joining me for another collaboration, Torbjørn to add his exceptional keyboards, Jimmy to write lyrics and provide his powerful and distinctive vocal, luckily for me they both agreed.

Torbjørn  and Jimmy’s contributions have lifted the song to a level way beyond my original demo, thanks very much for your outstanding work guys.

Triumph over adversity is the theme here, I think we can all relate.

This is the result of one of the jam sessions with Maxim Lichtenwald (@maxim-lichtenwald) and Leo Cuznetov. As per usual, the jam session took several hours, and we experimented with many sounds, settings and ideas. Since I've been listening a lot to Dark Ambient lately, I kinda steered the jam session in a more industrial setting and incorporated some glitch elements and several pre-recorded samples.

Thanks to my daughter Lucy for the lovely artwork I'm using here and my son Dylan who did the cool sound effect at the start of this track 😁 A lighthearted tune I wrote one day a few years ago when I was thinking in circles and feeling overwhelmed! I thought I'd record it again using audacity as it was one I always wanted to revisit and have some fun with, thanks for taking the time to listen, it means a lot to me 💜
