I finished writing this song at the two-year mark of the pandemic. 
During these years, our kids were affected by isolation, fear and anxiety. This is for them, for all of the parents, like me, who watched their children’s world get smaller and smaller as the days wore on. And of course, this is for my own kids who stayed home to protect me because of my own health issues. I can never repay them, wouldn't even know where to start, for I have seen first-hand just how deeply their time away from friends and their own lives has affected them. It came to me one day, all in a rush after a particularly heart-wrenching time with one of my girls. I'd have done anything, given anything to erase the pain that all of this has caused. I love them with my whole heart.

Here is a piece I wrote and recorded for The Composer Club. The challenge was to write something that would fit well with this description:

"My Ship crash landed on this god forsaken rock over a week ago, there are no signs of life... Am I, the only soul on this planet?"

After crash landing on an unknown Planet, one man emerges from the wreckage and stumbles to his feet with minor injuries. After a week of survival, he realises he may be alone on a desolate, although there is possibility he is not...

In this situation, would you become the explorer, searching the undiscovered sands of time, surviving alone but in hope of finding something... Maybe a civilization, or the ruins of ancient beings?

Or would you panic, living in fear of the unknown, not knowing if there are others out there watching you in the dark, or fearing that you are literally the only soul alive on a ginormous alien planet...

There are many emotions and feelings that being alone on an alien planet could inspire. The challenge is to compose a song for this situation, and how you would survive. Courage. Fear. Embrace. The choice is yours.

Composer Club Alien World Challenge

"An astronaut crash lands on an unknown planet, and after a week of survival, he finds out that he isn't alone. He finds civilization who rescues him from the isolation and makes him feel like home. Later, he realizes that no matter what, he isn't home where he belongs."

This was initially a challenge given to me (yes this is sans Vivek) with the above brief, but as I finished, we realized that this is not fiction, but a story of all societal misfits. The ones who try to fit in to the system but can't because they're different. I won't go on, interpret as you wish.
