It’s time to pack up the car and our daredevil is excited for the final of his many “Road Trips” across the vast continent. He throws on the booming stereo in the auto, while nodding his head to the reverberating and lengthy bass under the scattered layers of a somehow dark, but uplifting organ progression. The open road is his muse on his journey to the ocean.

The waves are rolling in on this crisp summer day in Cape Town and he feels confident. “Boom clap boom clap boom clap” is what he hears from the strong current striking against the rocks on the shoreline. He feels the persistent rhythm of the South Atlantic Ocean as he paddles out under the sinking sun. The warrior mounts the first swell perfectly and utters a subconscious, yet triumphant “Uh” as he descends from the peak. 

The sun begins to reach the horizon and the colors of the sky bounce and refract through the water, giving the scene an almost psychedelic feel. The seagulls click through the water searching for prey and they create scattered synths and sonorous cymbals from under the water. This whole day is really starting to get “Kinda Wavy.”

Oh The No is a heavily processed record with a warmth that rivals most others. For those of you who don’t speak 'producer talk', that basically means if this track was a colouring-in book then each different page would be a perfectly arranged rainbow of smooth shapes and round squiggles.
