Clemens Grassmann, born 1991 in Berlin, Germany, is a musician, drummer, percussionist and composer. He started playing Drumset at the age of ten. Clemens as well went to study Cuban Percussion in Cuba and since then also doubles on congas, bongos and timbales and other percussion instruments.
In Summer 2011 and having studied with Prof. Mario Würzebesser for 3 years, Clemens moved to Dresden, Germany, to study Jazz-Rock-Pop Drumset at the Hochschule für Musik Carl-Maria-Von-Weber in Dresden, Germany with Prof. Sebastian Merk and Prof. Michael Griener. After two years in Dresden, Clemens received a scholarship during the Berklee Umbria Summer Clinics Program to attend Berklee College of Music and moved to Boston, MA, in Fall 2013 to pursue his studies. He embraced various different aspects and essentials of music while stuyding and playing with teachers and mentors such as Ron Savage, Neal Smith, Kenwood Dennard, Billy Kilson, Terri Lyne Carrington and Ralph Peterson. Clemens has played and recorded with many musicians from Berlin, Dresden, Boston and New York and his art is recognized in various different styles such as Jazz, Rock, Pop, RnB, Soul, Funk, Afro-Cuban, Latinjazz, Brazil, Middle-Eastern and World Music.
Clemens is involved in various musical projects between Boston, MA and New York City including his own group which just recorded their first EP "Tales of Boston". He graduated from Berklee College of Music in May 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music and was also part of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute which is an 2-year-Jazz program led by Danilo Perez and Marco Pignataro and features master classes, workshops, lectures, ensembles and performances with some of the most popular and influencing Jazz artists today such as Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone, Terri Lyne Carrington, David Gilmore, Dave Liebman, Kenny Werner, Ben Street, John Clayton, Adam Cruz or Antonio Sanchez. In March 2015, he received the Armand Zildjian Award at Berklee College of Music.
He released his first album Labyrinths & Tales on January 19th 2017 as a collaboration of original compositions during his studies at Berklee College of Music. While exploring new territories and defining his musical journey, Clemens emerged as an original composer concatenating Jazz, Latin-, World- and Electronic music and creating a unique musical experience that invites the listener to join him and his group on an exciting trip of thrilling tales on bewildering paths.

My name is James F. Hodgdon III, and I am a composer and guitarist primarily, but I also play a variety of other instruments. I received a Bachelor of Music, in Music Composition, at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT. 

I love to write for all manners of instrumentation. Nothing is off limits. My dream is to one day work with film, theater and video game scores.

Born in the USA I moved, when I was six years old, to the UK. The transition into a completely alien education system was challenging and it took me a while to settle in and adjust. So when I was praised by an early music teacher as showing ‘potential’ I grabbed onto this, and began following a musical path that has led me to where I am today, back in the US and studying at a school that I’ve wanted to attend since I was in my early teens.

My passion for composition has hugely increased as a result of the techniques I’ve learnt from my teachers and peers. My ambition is to perform my work with my own groups and ensembles.  I have recently been writing compositions for string quintets, learning about writing for horn sections and big bands, and producing work for my own promotion.

My experience includes performing and recording music/strings for fashion shows, adverts, games, and films (the last documentary with 80 min of the score with the solo violin was premiered at the Berlin Film Festival 2014). With years of both traditional (Conservatory) and modern (Berklee College of Music) training, I work in genres ranging from Dramatic and Orchestral to Jazz, Funk, Pop, Folk, Electronic, Ambient, and more. In the past worked with Cirque Du Soleil, Goran Bregovic, Fransis Goya, U-Nam, Nick Johnson, Johan Rodrigues, Caroline England, Cardiac, Ben Pedersen and many others. Currently working as a session violinist/violist/arranger for composers/songwriters/producers around the world and making music for feature films/tv/adverts in Russia!
