Friend began his journey as a music journalist in 2010 founding @psymedia before taking up DJing 2017. In 2018 he moved from South Africa to Vietnam and quickly established himself as a formidable DJ and promoter in the region. From sandy beaches down south to mystical caves up north, Friend played at many reputable clubs, festivals and tropical jungle raves such as Studio Adventure, Savage, Retreat (Equation), We Groove and Equinox Festival. His creatively curated 'This Is' club nights and prolific sunrise afterparties in Hanoi under his humble record label @magicboxengine also played a pivotal role in shaping the city's underground music scene.

Since returning to Cape Town in 2021, Friend has performed at renowned festivals and prolific venues such as Wolfkop Weekender, Bazique, Habitat, Into The Wild, Afrikaburn, Origin Festival and Modular Club. Often eclectic, sometimes obscure, always tasteful - Friend's forever evolving sound is heavily influenced by his nomadic travels in SE Asia, South America and Europe. Never shy to switch up the genre or tempo, his versatile approach sees him blending elements of ambient, house, minimal, techno, electro and breakbeats spanning both new school and old.

Jean-Pierre Du Preez is the co-founder and audio engineer behind S U B V Λ U L T and the South African company, NOVO Sound. He is dedicated to bringing his clients regular inspiration by stimulating their senses and opening the way for the creation of anything the mind can conceive, all while staying true to his cerebral nature. 

Jean-Pierre has challenged himself with award winning projects and adventures. Over the past 2 years he has worked with Figure One Films, Undiscovered Media, The Grand kids Collective, and Triggerfish Animation Studios with whom he won best Sound Design for Cape Town's 48 Hour Film Project. 

His work represents a spirit of discovery and innate curiosity as he curates the wonders of sound. He saturates everything with a decadent, decorative sensibility, and has found many entrepreneurial ways to provoke positive change in the quality, standards, and perceptions of sound.

Formerly part of the acclaimed duo Riot Squad and Ctrl Room, Kyle now focuses on delivering deep, melodic, and dark-edged grooves through Techno, Minimal, and Psytech. His productions have been signed to respected international and local labels including Atoma Records (UK), Sleepwalker Records (SA), Loudroom Recordings (MEX), Plus Plus (USA), and Looper Records (ITL) solidifying his reputation as a versatile artist with global reach.
