Avery Hookz was born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City. Surrounded by all genres of music growing up, Avery quickly grew an eclectic ear for music, however his greatest love became Hip-Hop. Listening to MC's translating their thoughts and messages into music influenced him to become an artist. Free-Styling for fun naturally grew effortless, and shortly after people were intrigued. Avery Hookz performed in showcases throughout NYC in venues such as The Pyramid, SOB's, Webster Hall, Bon Fire, The Blue Room, and Mexicali Live to name a few. The notoriety took him places outside of his hometown to The Atrium in Atlanta, GA where he also lived for a few years. Experimenting with various sounds allowed him to showcase his talents to multiple audiences from his perspective.
