This remix came as a surprise to us and it was definitely one of the best we've had. A most lovely and effective take on Escar's original by Dutch duo KAAP, this one is a dazzling DJ gem as well as a great listening track. Denmark-based Variete's first offering, "Luddite" is, as he puts it best, machine-breaking, no nonsense techno for the heads featuring 4 intricate and potent club tools for his killer debut EP.

"Drumworks" is a hypnotic, brain-cleansing drum-based track, "Ring Out" is drenched in deep dimensional layering, "Closed Orbit" stands out with its outrageous spatial synth and the compulsive vox and groove while "Slant", with its muddy vocals and reductionist nature is the embodiment of a post-industrial rhythmic weapon.

A crafty, solid, groundbreaking release, "Luddite" is in its essence a collection of quirky, heavy-hitting club tracks.
