Born and raised in the Netherlands, in his teenage years Mike quickly became infatuated with electronic music. It was the likes of Cassius, Daft Punk and DJ Falcon that pulled him towards the French House realm. The uplifting melodies and funk driven bass lines inspired him to dive in to audio production for himself.

Through his work ethic and passion for the craft, Mike powered through a few other genres before arriving at his true love: dirty, gritty, Chicago House. The trademark French filtered break downs remained, but today are accompanied by bass heavy and filth covered beats.

And so making his debut on the ever reliable Kyubu, Mike delivers three quality tracks of tastiness.

'Kill Switch' is a phat solid club gem, full of drive and a moody slant, its big bass propels the track along, a nicely effected synth top line and some squelchiness all culminate, before the big filter drop. Big!

'Monrovia' is full of wonkiness, quirky and cool, and rather dirty. But also beautiful and melodic. A tale of two vibes, and we like it.

Rounding things off we find 'Zdarling' with its deep but warm tones, meeting clunky percussion, rising tones and a lovely swung feel about the groove. Its almost is like summer is back. Well we can pretend can't we.

To celebrate our 200th release, the fourth installment of the “Stil vor Talent Berlin” compilation series brings forth a group of old and new faces, who exclusively contributed unreleased tracks, gathered under the umbrella of Berlin's metaphorical aorta.

Alexanderplatz – or more specifically, its TV tower the 'Fernsehturm' – is one of the city's most iconic spots, bustling with locals and tourists alike. A stroll through its subjacent U-Bahn station exemplifies Berlin's multitude and diversity like no other place in the city.

As always, music is the common denominator and Oliver Koletzki delivers the perfect soundtrack with this new release, while Chrisse Kunst renders the visual.

@henry-saiz & Band return for another round bringing you further adventure into the world of their recently released audiovisual album project ´Human´ tickling some heartstrings again.
The title track of the album, which is an incredibly pure, raw song focused on textures and sensation, mixing acoustic and electronic elements, turned out to be the guys´ probably most personal oeuvre yet. Trying to recreate the lights and shadows of the African savanna, original song also aims to show the listener the chaos of a place brimming with life and drama, and the beauty so astounding that it shakes our conception of what it means to be human. And it does.
´Human´ then gets a beautiful makeover from Permanent Vacation's @benjamin-fr-hlich-permvac who couldn´t help himself and delivered two equally stunning versions - passionate, precise, powerful and entirely committed to the original´s aesthetic. Overall they are rousing overtures backed up with concrete drums, hypnotic beat tools, trippy chants and emotional atmospherics. Bursting with melody, soul and emotional weight, each of them is gradually unveiling an utterly enthralling musical story. 
Finishes up the package a Romanian producer @liarinth who delivers a spacey and swirling remix that´s an epic fusion of nostalgic synthwork with its distorted lo-fi synthlines, spellbinding sound design, chanting vocal chops, distant pads and ravey breakbeat. With producer´s signature emotional poignancy that´s instilling a mind high, his remix is a musical soundscape that´s subtly enchanting and completely gripping.

2018 was quite the year for Stripped Recordings! While welcoming a plethora of new talent, the label continued honing its most promising proteges.
