Things took off for Barbuto in 2015  after his first release on Octopus Recordings which attracted the attention of Enrico Sangiuliano who remixed his follow up EP, “Vanta Black”. That same year Barbuto appeared in the paper edition of DJ Mag who came across a recording from Coda in Toronto Canada touting it as one of the best sets of the year. Since signing with Octopus labels Tronic, Phobiq, OFF, Unity, Nervous, Le Club and Transmit amongst several other boutique labels have released Barbuto’s music. 2019 birthed Mavic Music, a techno label focusing on upcoming artists from his homeland Australia as well as already established producers from around the world such as The Filterheadz, David Dega, D.R.N.D.Y, I AM BAM, Charles D and Barbuto.

He is the label head for Mavic Music an underground techno label that is approaching 100 releases with over 400 singles. He has been charted at current 455 times with original music on Codex, OFF, Tronic, Octopus, Unity, Set About, Nervous and Transmit as well as other boutique
artist labels with 19 top 100 techno chart singles. He was the head resident Dj and a promoter of the original Kingdom Nightclub in Austin Texas (arguably the number 1 techno club in North America) and has performed at Coda Toronto (DJ Mag paper edition quoted as one of the best sets of the year), Gorg-O-Mish Vancouver, Space and Tree House Miami, The End Up and Monarch in San Francisco, La Santanera Mexico, Avalon Los Angeles, Spin San Diego, White Rabbit Berlin, Melkweg Amsterdam, Vertigo Costa Rica, The Palms Guatamala and several venues around Australia. Some of the artists Barbuto has performed b2b with or has been direct opening support for include Carl Cox, Kevin Sanderson, Josh Wink, Umek, Adam Beyer, Drumcell, Nicole Moudaber, Julian Jeweil, Jay Lumen,

Day 9 brings a pure underground weapon straight from my treasury called “Slave To The Empire,” a rave-infused tech-trance I wrote in 2024.

Created during a hectic run of shows and studio commitments, this one was meant to drop officially but clashing release schedules, touring chaos, and life in general kept pushing it back. Before I knew it, it became another unreleased beast collecting dust on my hard drive.

So today I’m finally letting it out into the world instead of letting it rot in the vault.
