Aura Sonora return with a second release to follow up the fantastic first one, this time it brings together two meticulous studio craftsmen, DYL & Tammo Hesselink. Their 'Moire Patterns' EP kicks off with 'Pattern 1', a deep and rhythmic slice of rubbery techno that rides broken beats with atmospheric pulses up top. 'Pattern 2 slows down to a predatory crawl with icy pads making for a dystopian vibe then 'Pattern 3' brings a sense of mystic tribal ritual deep in some futuristic jungle and 'Pattern 4' closes down with more fantastically crafted, dubby, broken rhythms that are topped with organic percussion and almost impossible not to move to. Pure rhythm science brilliance.

Legendary dub techno artist Paul St. Hilaire (AKA Tikiman) announces new collaborative album, marking 10 years of Kynant Records. 

Building on the success of Paul St. Hilaire’s landmark solo album for Kynant in 2023, w/ The Producers switches up the formula to pair St. Hilaire with a different producer on each track. Referencing fellow dub techno pioneers Mark Ernestus & Moritz von Oswald’s acclaimed album w/ The Artists as Rhythm & Sound, St. Hilaire flips the concept to feature as the lone vocalist.

Over the album’s nine tracks, St. Hilaire offers a range of conscious song-writing and headtop musings, such as the spoken-word dread of “What’s This” or the sparse call-to-action of “Send Them On”. w/ The Producers is yet another essential record in St. Hilaire’s unmatched discography.

The album marks 10 years of Kynant Records, with label owner Richard Akingbehin curating an eclectic but sonically connected group of producers. These include luminaries such as Digital Mystikz boss and dubstep trailblazer Mala, or the elusive Chain Reaction artist Shinichi Atobe. They sit alongside some of the most exciting names in recent electronic music - Batu, Gavsborg, Azu Tiwaline, Priori, Cousin, Russell E.L. Butler, Aurora Halal and DJ G - all of whom bring different elements of dub techno into their productions.

w/ The Producers finds Kynant Records bridging the original voice of dub techno with the genre’s new wave. It’s a statement of intent from the label, which began 10 years ago with deep, hypnotic techno and has veered gradually towards more dubwise sounds.

Waving from Santa Fe, Selene draws from her seemingly endless pool of records. Be it her love for acid sounds and techno deeply rooted in the 90s, deep dug electro or ambient. She should be familiar to long time listeners of Intergalactic FM, where she played a beautiful ambient set at this year's festival. 

Her mix highlights electro from its more menacing side. Bass-driven, frightening vocals, tuff and atmospheric at the same time. A journey into the unknown known, perfectly fitting for dark times like ours.

Blending echoing synths, field recordings, and original samples, his music drifts between dance and deep listening, shaping immersive journeys across clubs, festivals, and contemplative spaces with a fluid, boundary-free sonic approach.

Naarm-based artist Greer carries us through the second entry to Serendipity -offering over an hour of serene ambience, knitted together with graceful beauty and the rawness of their own experience. 

The sound they have curated invites the listener to dream, breathe deeply into oneself and seek truth. Organic sounds are nestled amongst warm layers of ethereal chords, bringing about a sense of intangible comfort that allows the listener to texturally potter through the inevitable liminality which accompanies growth…

Greer has reflected on their intentions and emotions behind the mix, and where serendipity has found them along the way;


“This mix was recorded at the beginning of the new year, something that started without a solid intention, ended up becoming a full on reflective journey through moments that had guided and shaped my little heart.

A loving glance between friends, a pat on the back, tears on a flight, incense in new yet old homes, a thought that incites change – something all a little deeper than myself.

I reflected on my year in a new city, reminiscing over canon events, love gained and lessons learnt. During this mix, it was like I regained consciousness, I suddenly remembered how these softer sounds can nurse us to a space of gentle introspection.

I hope this mix can be a gentle guide to reflection - when things seem chaotic or slightly out of reach - may these sounds remind you to take a deep breath and reconnect with your body…everything will be juuuuuuuuust fine!”

Greer is a DJ, visual artist and the driving force behind the melting ambient mix series take care, a meditative place to visit when you need more of these gentle yet reflective soundscapes.

This time, Bakunn (@bakunn) dives into the catalogue of Ilian Tape - the iconic label founded in 2007 by Dario Zenker in Munich. This will be a unique edition of the show: the first time we explore a label that has evolved from deep techno roots into something far more hybrid and open-ended.

Early Ilian Tape releases were shaped by the dusty swing of boom-bap hip hop and dubstep influences - with A Tribe Called Quest and Digital Mystikz as key inspirations. Initially known for its minimal and loopy techno with groove, the label gradually shifted as a new wave of post-club producers joined the roster - including Skee Mask, Laksa, Etch, and dubstep heavyweight Commodo. Today, Ilian Tape stands as one of the most respected platforms bridging techno, bass, and experimental club music.
