From Brooklyn, New York by way of Staten Island, Jahiliyya Fields debuted on L.I.E.S. in 2012 with a heralded, yet still under the radar double lp "Unicursal Hexagram". 2013 saw him once again return to L.I.E.S. with his four track "Pleasure Sentence" ep this time with the addition of a drum machine and abstract 4/4 leanings. 

Through the year he's been perfecting his live set up moving into modular territory with the help of the guys over at Control (http://www.ctrl-mod.com/) as this set displays his transformation into that world. 

Recorded live on October 20th on the Scones radio show WFMU Jersey City, New Jersey here we have 40 minutes of untamed electronics from one of the more interesting characters emerging from the grime of New York City in the last couple of years.

This compilation unites music from Mutant Radio’s friends and residents, with all proceeds directly supporting political prisoners, their families, and activists across different regions of Georgia. The struggle continues until every political prisoner is freed and new elections take place.

Whether on the streets, in our space, or through the airwaves, we remain firmly alongside the movement. Without true freedom, creativity is silenced, culture fades, and Mutant Radio cannot exist.

For the second installment of the Awk Cast in 2025, we bring you the wiggly waves of @hassan94,  co-founding member of the wonderful @worthwhiletangents crew. 

In this two hour mix, the Iraqi born, UK raised and Berlin based selector takes us on a deep and varied dive into his sonic world. Seamlessly jumping between lots of styles that are enjoyably hard to pigeonhole, every tune feels perfectly placed and adds to the on point levels of subtle sass and playfulness on display here. 

Wiggle to these waves, enjoy the spring sun, and think of many more fun wiggles to come!

Gamma Intel is a Rotterdam-based DJ / producer. Releasing his own music since 2018, he appeared on labels such as brokntoys, Pinkman, and Mechatronica. He delivers a monthly selection of underground electronics at the station, such as slow beat, ambient, dub, breaks, and electro.

The Italian 80s avant garde / anarcho scene is explored in this limited 12” release presenting Nengue and their previously unreleased cover version of the new wave classic Los Ninos Del Parque and the electro pop wave African Beat.
The tumultuous political climate of the 1960s through 1980s inspired Italian artists to craft an introspective, psychological musical landscape. As civil unrest, violent demonstrations, and political murders became commonplace, Italy's centres of intellect vibrated with activist energy. This atmosphere gave birth to a unique, mechanized sound that blended electronic elements with a raw, discordant aesthetic, reflecting the chaotic spirit of the times.
Through vintage forms of social networking and music sharing, a community led process steered the scene, publishing zines and records that grasped alternative concepts of music and lifestyle.
Nengue, were similar to many of these lo-fi, retro-future electronic music pioneers. Based in Rome, their music / art backgrounds flowed with anti-art, extreme noise, futurism, industrial, experimental, martial, folk, free jazz and exotica.
With a couple of releases as a duo, as was often the case, they appeared in numerous other projects and the music was a mixture of their individual backgrounds.
Extraordinarily, only appearing on a couple of obscure cassette compilations, indicative of the time, the quality of Nengue’s productions stands testament. Originally approached to reissue their Cosmic meets Kraftwerk inspired African Beat, a wonderful yet simple electronic idiom, layers of electronica rising, each element an addition flow, vocals the release’s waves.
However, the discovery of their cover of Los Ninos Del Parque – describing it as ‘powerful anarchic nonsense’ – is rightfully now the primary focus.
Acting as some Brutalist interpretation, its sharp electronics and industrial vocals, propel you to a brick-strewn squat party and a place in anarcho folklore.

'You're Back In 2020 MIX' is a collection of tracks mirroring peak-time COVID-era moods and tone. It was decided to publish these tracks as unedited, unmixed, and unmastered as an artist's phonographic memoir of this period.

Airtight moods mix with bluish tones, making fabricated recollection indistinguishable from morbid reality. Delving deep into alchemical models, the artist explores concepts of mass paranoia, the perpetual effect of the 'scroll'; a proto-invention of a tangible thought control system, and hinting at a substantial future collapse in modern human perception. All of this is expressed in tonalities that are easy for the initiated, leaving just a psychological trace of the conundrum.
