Starting 2023 with the right foot, we are in no rush but definitely happy that our first release of the year is this amazing set by our dear friend Akra Ondo.

It has been a pleasure to see how Silvana has been growing and developing her musical journey through the passing of the years, and it only feels right that she finally joins our LOKD family by releasing our next mixtape.

Steady rhythms, evolving synthscapes, resonating bass, morphed leads, hypnotic and absorbing are a definition of this journey of biologic nature.

A Journey Inward

We can barely imagine a better start to the new year.
For our 21st release "Obsidian" many friends pulled together. The EP features one original track and three remixes. The original track "Obsidian" was co-composed by Sun Drine, Dit:eau, Ben Jarli and TrickyJones.

Friendship, kinship and a common passion for many shades of electronic music made these four creative spirits set foot on an adventurous trail: a spontaneous collaboration.

A studio session makes a fruitful birthday gift, and what started with the sole and humble ambition of having a good time skinny-dipping in synths & sounds, soon evolved into a harmonic workflow that none of them could have anticipated.

An outburst of rhythmic elements in a gloomy atmosphere and a rolling bassline carrying a sparkling/flamboyant breakbeat make Obsidian a tune resembling an obscure igneous rock - petrified lava that preserves its natural force, energy and heat for those special occasions.

As a senior stone mason infamous for his fine sonic carvings, Bernstein transforms the original's dark timbres into a driving and bubbly gem, a shining spherolite in a flowstone cave.
With their fierce and powerful interpretation, ki ya tori take the original to the floor, without further adue.
In the spirit of adept reductionism, avsluta's ambient mix rounds this EP off to a coherent yet versatile whole.

You came here at the right time, as we are unleashing not only ours, but also AFAR's first long player. 
Over the past year, we've grown very fond of those two, as they keep on surprising and enchanting us with their beautiful world of lo-fi electronica. 

The duet combines beautiful and beast-like soundscapes to go alongside this never fading duality of darkness and light. 
Music from afar is a collection of stories, dreamt up and thought through in and around a small house in the middle of nowhere a.k.a. Biesenthal and finalised in the comfort of their home. 
Sound from afar far away, straight into your frontal cortex, warming up your soul soup. 

As this LP isn't necessarily looking for the dancefloor, but wants to be listened to as a whole, we'd like to advise you kindly to buy it as such. 
That way, you'll also get the whole trip as a bonus mix for free. 

So grab your copy, put the needle on and start wobbling with the music.

Here is the morning set I did for Fusion Festival, on Bachsteltzen Velvet Soup stage, closing the Sonido Tropico slot from 7h to 8h30 on saturday, after Reple, Spaniol and Exz.                                      

It was my first Fusion and what a wilde experience (:  Thanks to everyone that joined us <3 
I need to thank Sonido Tropico and most especially Billy Caso.

The set was completely improvised, starting really "Xique-Xique" before "Dunwich" gets his foot in the door, at the end of the set (;       

I hope you will enjoy and hopefully, see u next year !

There's the faint hissing from a distant fog machine, that is feeding this ever changing place. And the floor feels just as heavenly! Must be some kind of super deluxe fluff, straight from a secret storage unit in the clouds.

Lights are blinking edgelessly behind the woozy silhouette of the DJ booth and hovering behind it is Marlin Helene in a gown and slippers.
We can't know for sure what it is in her mug, but it might be secco. 
Catch a glimpse before the fog gets heavier and the madness begins.
