As a prelude to the upcoming Soul:ution Room Two takeover on Friday 16th May, label boss Marcus Intalex and one of Manchester’s most reliable renegade emcees, DRS, have bumped consciousness and put together this, their ‘Mid Mic Crisis’ mix. Regular sparring partners in clubs the world over, DRS’ trademark measured Mancuian flow rides perfectly atop on Intalex’s soulful selection with his baritone delivery sitting sweetly and filling out the dynamic range of the rolling selections which reportedly feature, in some form, material from DRS’ forthcoming second album, Mid Mic Crisis.

Basically it’s a glorious and specifically tailored 62 minute mixtape showcase of DRS’ potency as a host, an emcee and a vocalist. But it comes mixed by Intalex which more than hints at the level of quality it contains... two of Manchester's finest in sterling form.

Anile stepped out of the shadows in 2015 with his brilliant debut album ‘Perspective’ now he’s back with another beautifully textured, deeply hypnotic set of tracks in the ‘Allergens’ EP. His futuristic jungle style snakes through haunting sonic sounds, enthralling sub bass and metallic snares.

‘Your Way’ is another example of the class and quality Anile originates. His intelligent use of space and structure clears the mind with dark grooves and compelling creative flare. Title track ‘Allergens’ infects the ear-ways with manic bee buzzing snares and low frequency basslines - one to get the 3AM hearts racing.

Strong percussion patterns make up the backdrop for a variety of jazzy, melodic elements all loosely connected to create an emotional and ethereal track three, ‘Wish List’. ‘Velvet Glove’ runs in the same vein with a soulful vocal bringing an element of vulnerability to the EP.

On side C of Zero T's forthcoming EP we have a track that blew us away as soon as we heard the drop.  Sublime stuff and it goes without saying Stamina MC's vocal snippets just make the whole track that bit smoother all round.  Deep D&B produced as well as youre ever gonna hear it from one extremely talented producer.

The whole 'Roxy Music EP' (more so in particular the lead track) pays homage to a certain venue in Vienna called Roxy which a good number of us in the liquid D&B heydays of the mid 2000's and onwards were privileged enough to play at. To say thanks for such great times Zero T decided a dedication was in order and here we are!
