DJ CO-MA


DJ CO-MA was a contender in Japan's 2004 DMC only 2 years after he began DJing. The following year he returned to claim the Battle Title and followed it up the next year with an unprecedented 2nd consecutive victory.
Representing Japan at the DMC World Championships in London, he swept the crowd and judges away earning him the title DJ Battle World Champion.
He then set his sights on the highly coveted prize in the Single Category.
In 2008 he beat out his competition in Japan's DMC Final and went on to claim 3rd prize at that year's DMC World Championships.
History repeated itself and in 2009 DJ CO-MA took the title at in Japan, advancing again to the World Championships where he came in second, only 5 points shy of the title.
At the IDA World Championships in Poland, he was the first Asian to become World Champion.
DJ CO-MA's style is more than just outrageously good, his technical skills are razor sharp, and his grooves are hard wired to his audience.
He brings his “Make Music + Skill” ethos to audiences worldwide.

わずかDJを始めて2年にして、DJ達の頂点を決定する最高峰の国内大会DMC JAPAN FINAL 04の舞台に立ち注目を集める。
翌年にはDMC JAPAN FINALバトル部門で初優勝、次ぐ06年には前人未到の2連覇を果たし、日本代表として参加した WORLD FINALにおいて圧倒的勝利でバトル部門WORLD CHAMPIONに輝く。
次いで世界で最も注目されるDMCのシングル部門に狙いを定めると、2008年の国内大会でぶっちぎりで頂点を掴み取ると、 世界大会では流れるような音楽的フローで観客を沸かせ3位に入賞を果たす。
リベンジを賭けた翌2009年、国内大会を防衛王者として2連覇を決めると、WORLD FINALにおいて会場を一番沸かせつつも、 1位とわずか5ポイント差で２位という結果に終わった。
しかし飽くなき世界への頂点を目指すと、同年ポーランドで行なわれたDJ世界大会IDA WORLD FINALに初挑戦にして、 アジア人初の世界チャンピオンに圧倒的勝利で輝いた。
そのプレイはただのノイジーなスタイルとは一線を隔し、テクニカルにして観客の体を揺らし続けるグルーブ感が持ち味だ。
それはつまりプロ達をも納得させるスキルと、パーティーラヴァー達を踊らせ続ける音楽性、 そのどちらも兼ね備えたバランス感が可能にしている。
作品としては日本の音楽レーベルHand Cutsより、Speech Defectのアルバム『COME FOR DA FUNERAL,STAY FOR DA FOOD』のExclusive mix、 そして最新作はHIFANA“NAMPOO CABLE 2”にプロデュース曲“Ethnicalicious”が収録されている。

Walk Off The Earth is an unconventional, multi-talented five-piece musical phenomena that is currently taking the world by storm.
