Few artists grasp the importance of versatility, originality and authenticity as quickly as Makarii. Delivering a truly unique fusion of Liquid and Neuro – the pair have championed individuality from the get go. Hailing from Kent and Hampshire respectively, Sam Hudson and Matt Manser combined forces in late 2017 with a simple goal - to create dancefloor-ready yet melodically driven drum & bass that will set them apart from the rest of the scene they respect and love. 

Having met at university in Southampton, the pair threw regular parties for the local scene and their love for the sound and culture is what brought them together. It’s a relationship that guarantees bass-driven neuro and tech with strong melodic and harmonic overtones. As solo artists, Matt Manser had a natural flair for the heavier end of the drum & bass spectrum, producing hard-hitting techy tunes akin to the likes of some of his heroes from the scene including Mefjus, InsideInfo and Emperor. Sam, on the other hand, brings the more melodic elements aspiring to hit sounds similar to the likes of Nu:Logic, Pola & Bryson and Technimatic. 

After becoming frustrated with the all to regular producer headache of not being able to find their desired finished product, they put their heads together and started sharing ideas, concepts and, most importantly, stems. This led to the pairing we have today, one of the most exciting sounds to be emerging in the scene in 2018.

Matt Manser is a DJ and producer from London. With varied influences ranging from Drum & Bass, Techno, Ambient and his own history of playing the guitar, he seeks to constantly redefine his musical boundaries to create emotive and unique journeys through his music. His current work mixes floating pads, evolving arps and deep baselines to create unique tracks that blend live instruments with electronic sound design.
