People Get Real - KMAH Radio - July-15

Man Power has been doing his best to remain anonymous, but what’s known is that he’s based somewhere in Europe and in the last month has released music and remixes on labels including Ene (remixing Chris’s very own Ess O Ess project), Correspondant, Infine, Eskimo and many others, with his latest EP “Flacid Trax” being released on John Talabot’s Hivern Discs this week.
As a DJ the last year has seen him play all over the globe at clubs and festivals in locations as far ranging as New York, London, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, Croatia, Mexico, Lithuania and Scotland.
On the horizon you can expect more music for the likes of Vouyeurhythm and Throne of Blood, as well as a full length album on Correspondant in 2015.

BP Podcast No.30 - Konkret Cutz

Bird of Paradise is Jo Howard’s solo project. He is from the North East of England and started organising parties in early 2012 in his native Sunderland along with his good friend Clark ‘Pav’ Davison, the other half of ‘Cubik’. As well as being a resident at his own renowned events Jo frequently appeared at some of the North’s finest underground nights, Individually and collectively, and now resides as a firm resident at the ‘Tourist’ parties in Newcastle, playing along side names such as John Talabot, Daniel Avery, Todd Terje and Ivan Smagghe.
Having began working on his own sound in early 2014, he has caught the attention of exciting and innovative new labels and released E.P’s on Join Our Club and Itchy Pig Records. This gathered great support from names like Red Axes, OOFT!, Eric Duncan and Chida to name a few.
He’s been a busy boy in the sudio lately with releases due out on Correspondant, HAKT, LBL and Join Our Club. He also has remixes for Lokier, William Earl and Elizabeth Collective for Nein, a remix for Los Lopez for Blindetonation and remixes for Elizabeth Collective & Konkret Cutz for LBL.

Our boy The Sonic Emporium is back again.  After presenting his Japanese excursion Atarashi to us earlier this year, he’s flown home via Detroit, Paris and London soaked up the influences and given us the fruits of his labours. 

Kicking things off with Beached TSE breaks it down to the raw elements and we love it! 808 wood blocks and claps twist their way through a rumbling baseline and ravey stabs simple but devastatingly effective.

Projector takes things a bit slower and more sinister like a midnight walk through a red light district something is lurking around every corner.

On the remix we have new signings Koncret Cutz.  Their take on Projector stretches things out and takes the track out on an almost epic trip teasing all the elements of the original in and out to great effect.
