It’s been 5 years since “VISA”, Sasu Ripatti’s latest release under his iconic Vladislav Delay moniker. Time of the study, of exploration and reconstruction, a time in which his sound, his methods, and practice have never ceased to evolve. It is now time for a new release which he titled Rakka, and it only makes sense for it to find a home on Cosmo Rhythmatic.

Ripatti makes it very clear that Rakka is not a ‘nature recording’, though it is inspired by the time he spent in the wilderness above arctic circle and tree lines, and the feelings and thoughts that traversed him while there. The music on the album is thus directly inspired by the arctic tundra: the elemental struggle to survive or thrive, the living creatures’ fight for existence. The raw, undefined, uncontrolled and uncorrupted power that exists within it.

Ripatti remakes these values into music, in monumental yet humble forms. Reductionist though not minimal, setting each part to prove its meaning, stripped from the meaninglessness of hooks and melodies. Sounds feel like carved off the flesh, leaving the bones bare. Beats emerge as ripples, as the motion of isolated forces, thwarting with the icy textures and backgrounds and trembling with strenuous energy.

A truly extreme ecosystem of sound, unleashed in the album as much as in the new Vladislav Delay live set, visually given life by Ripatti’s wife, artist Antye Greie-Ripatti (AGF).

Pour cette nouvelle saison et le seizième épisode de Feng Shit, nous accueillons le duo parisien @dhakira . Amalia Jaulin et Sinan Varis forment un projet peu commun ou Space et sound design se mélangent dans une noirceur atmosphérique et une poésie nébuleuse. Le duo nous offre une heure de leur propres productions sillonants entre dark ambient, glitch et spoken-word. Pérégrinations au travers d'un fin chemin bordé de coquelicots noirs et d'une brume épaisse, où s'agitent des âmes de tous horizons.

"After a brief cameo on the quadruple tape beast "Auditory" (2018), Evitceles is back on Sound+Matter / Sores. This time heʼs making a full-length appearance. Following acclaimed releases for electronic powerhouses as Opal Tapes, Yerevan Tapes, Seagrave or Sofia-based Amek Collective among others, Bulgarian producer Etien Slavchev presents 'Нелюбовʼ. Roughly translating in English as 'Nonloveʼ itʼs exactly what youʼll get from the record. "Нелюбов" is mostly occupying the lower ends of both the frequency and the emotional specters of Evitcelesʼ music.

Choosing to serve the music narrative through a fluidly morphing tracklist, Evitceles once again indulges into his signature genre-bending approach. His music doesnʼt stay on the same place for too long. Instead itʼs a relentless mixture of peaks and come-downs. From the bleak and disrupted soundscapes of Memory Loss through the sparse ambience of the self-titled track, the cavernous trip-hop vibe of Weak Eyes or his well-known post-club brutalism in Poisonous Fragrance and Percolating Crawl. Evitceles is still big on producing drum-heavy music, dripping with cut-up emotional textures. However, atmosphere is all in "Нелюбов" so donʼt be surprised when you hear him wrapping the album with not one or two, but three drifting long-form pieces, because in the end of the day everything is meant to die in silence."

Pour cette 10ème édition de la résidence Chromé sur Ola radio, @moderncollapse invite @janloup. 

Dès le début de son set jan Loup nous mène tout droit dans un triolet semblable aux ritournelles de Philip Glass; puis nous plongeons dans un univers cybernétique aux rythmiques précises et aux bruits algorithmiques entraînants. 
Jan Loup passe ici par des sonorités très personnelles qui nous apprennent plus sur sa personne, sa signature sonore, sa personnalité. Le côté résolument hybride est une marque de fabrique de cette nouvelle scène que nous désirons vous montrer pour cette importante 10ème édition. 

Le collage effectué par Gabriel de Sercey (@vacantexpression) est une compilation de photos de potes, de rendus blender, de paysages dessinés en 3D, de photos de profils et autres altercations de matière personnelle.

HHH is a new series of releases on Carpaccio Cathedrale coming from a residency called Hitchhiker. ⒽⒽⒽ residencies was created by Encastrable, an art duo who is part of Carpaccio.

The idea of HHH is simple: to invite an artist for a road trip by car, van or camping car, to produce music.
It's a great excuse to look for and create new forms with the guest artist.
Each artist is invited to make field recordings during the trip in order to compose tracks. For this one, the travel was between Nancy and Luxembourg. We visited a tuning car rally, a wasteland sanatorium, a racing circuit, a pet shop and a motorway area.
