The band is an atypical rock trio, no vocals and no guitars. 
Everything is made using drums, bass, Hammond, Rhodes and effects only.

La IENA è un duo che nasce dall'incontro tra Sandro Marchi (batterista) e Gianni Gneri(chitarrista-cantante) nell'ottobre del 2013.Nasce un'intesa che da subito si plasma in studio, percorrendo la via di uno stoner-rock intimista.Note ruvide e primordiali si alternano a suoni che si perdono nell'aria,toccando, si lo stoner ma anche il blues,il grunge,il pop e il cantautorato.

L' 8 agosto 2014 è uscito il loro primo EP "La iena" registrato alla "tana della iena" a Orciano Pisano, prodotto da "la iena" mixato e masterizzato da Davide Barbafiera.Grafiche di Matteo Berton.
