DOM släpper visa med Gift Blessing, Lars T Johansson och Martin Riverfield
Efter debutvisan Det sitter en ängel på din farstubro släpper DOM (Mats Björke och Doris Dahlin) uppföljaren Jag ser dig. I Jag ser dig medverkar artisterna Gift Blessing, Lars T Johansson och Martin Riverfield. Tre röster, tre generationer. En ångermanlänning, en dalmas och en världsmedborgare, alla med olika bakgrund.
 
“Det är jätteroligt att vi fått med Gift, Lars och Martin i visan. Lite extra spännande känns det att Gift som rappar medverkar i en visa. Hans älsklingsord är sanning, både inför sig själv och andra. Att röra sig mot sanning, ärlighet, nakenhet. Och han vill skriva och sjunga om de stora frågorna, om människonaturen och om vad som är viktigt i livet. Det stämmer väl mot vad DOM vill med sin musik. Så det är klart vi frågade honom om han ville vara med och sjunga i en vers i Jag ser dig”, säger Mats Björke.

“Jag försöker samla ihop så många litterära drag och funktioner som möjligt. Jag gör det för att insiktsfullt skriva berättelser och skapa musik som skildrar sanningar om människonaturen. Vad livet går ut på musikaliskt i rapp-format. Och det känns jättehäftigt att få rappa i Jag ser dig, som ju är en visa”, säger Gift Blessing.

Gift Blessing slog igenom TV-programmet Talang 2021, där han golvade juryn med en egenkomponerad låt och fick en golden buzzer och direktbiljett till finalen. Gift är känd för sina texter och sin snabba rap - 11,05 stavelser i minuten. Sedan medverkan i Talang har Gift medverkat i bland annat Carina Bergfeldts talkshow i SVT, Nyhetsmorgon och Malou Efter Tio i TV4. 

Lars T Johansson är skådespelare utbildad vid Scenskolan i Malmö. Direkt efteråt arbetade han fem år vid Skånska Teatern i Landskrona. En teater som då var Sveriges mest uppmärksammade, ett unikt kulturellt experiment, där han bland annat arbetade med skådespelare som Peter Haber, Rolf Lassgård, Ulla Sjöblom och Gunnel Lindblom, samt regissören, Peter Oscarsson. Han blev senare landets yngsta teaterdirektör, vid Västernorrlands regionteater. Lars är även trubadur, visgeneral och återkommande artist i Mittrevyn, samt en välkänd radioröst som bland annat har varit programledare för populära Sök och finn i 20 år. 

Martin Riverfield vann Country SM 2018 och prisades året innan av Sveriges Radio som årets nykomling i Dalacarlia Music Awards. Han är låtskrivare, artist och musikproducent. Hans många sånger till andra artister gjorde att han ifjol blev nominerad till årets låtskrivare på Dalecarlia Music Awards 2021. Tidigare var han medlem i musikgruppen John Lindberg Trio och nu är han frontfigur i Martin Riverfield & The Wheels of Fortune, som bland annat fick ta emot priset ”Publikens val” som bästa band 2018. 




DOM består av musikern Mats Björke och författaren Doris Dahlin. När pandemin kom fick Doris, som varit terapeut, många mail och samtal från människor som mådde dåligt och var i kris. Eftersom musik hjälpt henne många gånger började hon tänka på att hon utifrån egna och andras erfarenheter kanske skulle skriva sångtexter. Och när Mats svarade på en av hennes Instagramposter ”skriv den texten så gör jag musiken” blev svaret genast ja. Så började det. I november släppte de sin första gemensamma låt, Det sitter en ängel på din farstubro, från en kommande EP under artistnamnet DOM. Duon skriver tillsammans lugn musik med målet att skapa hopp och framtidstro.



Mats Björke har under en lång karriär skrivit musik. Han har som musiker turnerat i hela världen och har bland annat varit medlem i Mando Diao. 
Doris Dahlin har skrivit flera böcker, bland annat storsäljaren Drunkna inte i dina känslor.

“Start a fire” is a collaboration between Wargirl, the Cold War Kids and vocalist Anne Dereaux 
This song came out of friends playing music together and attempting to write something meaningful about the state of America today.
The video was shot around southern California by Matt Wignall, Nathan Willet and Marika Dahlin.

This month we got hit with parking tickets adding up to around $200.00 loading in gear at The Echo in LA. 
We find this to be oppression on the working class. Sorry we don't have 1/4 mile driveways up in the hollywood hills
and our amps are too heavy to carry a mile. We closed out the year with militarized cops harassing Native Americans 
on private land at Standing Rock and two ridiculously flawed presidential candidates that no one really liked. 
Then Trump starts stacking his deck with rich white establishment types. Business as usual. 
Did you know that our percussionist, Erick, was brought to this country illegally as a child? 
For more than 20 years he has followed all the rules, got a college degree, and worked with 
the legal system to get residency in the only country he knows. Does something seem broken? 
Doesn't decades seem a little long? Does threatening deportations help this issue?

Is anyone else tired of politicians doing the bidding of corporations? Tired of endless war? Tired of Trumps and Bushs
and Obamas and Clintons? Tired of racism and working class oppression? 

DTLA PROTEST MARCH @coldwarkids
Saturday morning I went out to macarthur park for the protest. I wanted to take my 2 year old daughter but I heard a guy got shot in Portland night before. None of my friends could make it. It was hot. Parking took forever and I had to pee. I couldn’t find the main vain of people for a while. Once i did it was glorious. It was peaceful. People were chanting and upset, but smiling, encouraged by each others compassion. No arrests. No hooliganism. I regretted not taking my daughter. Signs, t shirts, watching and being watched, appreciating each other, celebrating voices. This is democracy. Witness. Let your voice be heard. This is patriotism, hearing what people have to say, getting it all out, from every corner. I am too upset to keep talking about this election and also too upset to stop thinking about the people that are already hurt. My 8 year old American born latina niece that comes home from school asking her mom if they will be deported to Mexico. The kids do like the adults do. The adults do like the president does. Who is this man ? Who did we elect? We are not him.

THE RIGHT TO VOTE  @annedereaux
Hatred was unearthed in this campaign.  A kind of hatred that harkens back to the pain this country was built on.  I refuse to give into the same fear and anger that has swastikas being drawn in school hallways; that has elected officials calling our first lady an ape; that has children afraid to go to school in the morning for fear of deportation; that has the KKK holding victory marches in honor of our new president elect.  I also won’t become complacent, or allow this to be our new normal; we can’t afford to accept racism, bigotry, and misogyny as a new way of life.  We have to be vigilant.  We have to show compassion.  We have to show our children what it means to be free, to not fear “other”, but to embrace it and become better because of it, not in spite of. We have to start our own fires, as small or big as they may be; with protests, with dialogue, with support for causes we believe in, and with our hard fought right to vote.

Bad Wire is Oskar Persson’s homage to misunderstandings. An attempt to communicate without asking any questions and not wanting to give any definite answers. The music is zealously composed but embraces the mistakes and the glitches. A bad phone line where single words fall out. It is about nuances rather than broad strokes. The diffuse feelings lacking names.

As For Now is the EP’s title track. A reflection on constructive and destructive relations, and how it can be difficult to understand the first without experiencing the latter. The phrase itself, ’as for now’, is meant as a consolatory mantra. A reminder that all is temporary. All can be changed.
