Taken from 'Real World 25' a 48-track compilation and celebration of Peter Gabriel's Real World Records, on their 25th Anniversary. 

Ayub Ogada is considered one of the greatest Kenyan musicians of all time and 'Kothbiro' is his contribution to the compilation. Taken from his 1993 album 'En Mana Kuoyo', is disarmingly simple - just Ogada and and the nyati, an East African lyre.

« Après 7 albums consacrés indirectement à l'héritage culturel maternel (origines juives de Transylvanie), j’ai conçu « Songs for the Old Man » comme une ré-interprétation de l'exil américain de mon père parti dans les années 50 aux Etats Unis.
Un recueil de folk songs clarinettistiques que je "chante" pour mon père, à mon père, mais aussi à tous  ceux qui passent leur vie sur la route, les nomades, les hobos, les déplacés, les réfugiés, avec l’envie de mélanger mes influences diverses d’Europe de l’Est à « l’americana ».  YOM
