Beside the nice weather and beautiful places, Malaga is undoubtedly a prolific territory where
electronic music lovers can find an interesting mix between emerging and consolidated artists.
Among them, Oclum is becoming a recurrent name thanks to his powerful melodic-techno.
For his Manitox debut, the young DJ and producer delivers us a complete three track EP entitled
‘Anemona’. Title track opens with long pads and a metallic percussion that drives listener into a
deep journey. An enormous reverb on drum instruments sets an epic mood to ‘Anemona’ while the
detuned lead adds some dramatic feelings.
Next up, ‘Exo’ on the flip is a completely different option focused on electro sounds where a
delayed lead-synth and a broken rhythm are the main characters. An effective side-chained white
noise effect offers an intense momentum before the melancholic synth hits again.
Last but not least, ‘Dream Machine’ is an interest track where listener can find the innovative FM
percussion that set a groovy pattern. The nice use of the vocoder on vocals must be highlighted on
this cut, becoming this resource another of Oclum’s diverse production skills.
