"The Wolf of Allendale" is a fever dream. One where you wake and scrawl a page of words in a stream of consciousness. The herald for something bigger, looming into frame. You know that feeling in the pit of your stomach, that gnawing you've felt for the longest time? That's "The Wolf of Allendale". Musically, "Wolf..." is deceptively buoyant, bouncing from section to section. It is by some margin the most ambitious thing New Ghost have attempted. An 8 minute, 15 second, three act propulsive prog-pop epic. Lyrically, it tumbles from gentle admonishment, to outright despair and everything in between, throughout these three distinct movements. 

The writing and recording of "Wolf..." was fraught. Initial recordings were made, then promptly lost amongst a studio closure. People were scattered to the wind during "the dark times". Files corrupted or unusable. Hard drives were scoured, and new efforts made to complete the opus. In the end - the pieces were stitched together in the heart of Sheffield. Like it always is. 

"The Wolf of Allendale" is the first new material since 2022's "Rectify" EP, and provides a road map of sorts as to where the band are travelling to next. Somewhere darker, more ornate. Where the guitars are fuzzier, and the songs carry with them their own gravitational pull.    

"The Wolf of Allendale" was written by Chris Anderson, and recorded by New Ghost. On this recording - New Ghost is Chris Anderson, Gareth Hughes, Ellie Richards, Taran Ali, Nic Bowden, and Joe Richards.

Odd Rotation is a different and site-specific presentation from Tan Cologne, centered in instrumental and ambient sound. At the end of summer 2022, the duo composed soundscapes of field recordings, live instrumentation, and organic sounds on site at Pescetrullo, an architectural art installation, in Puglia, Italy. With percussive recordings made inside a cement pool, rocks stacking, thunder, glass bottles, and insect behaviors, sounds were pieced together to form a sonic imprint of the multidimensional layers. The name Odd Rotation echos the behavior on site at Pescetrullo, examining motions of modern humans in ancient worlds, new art forms, and the natural living world.
