Hailing from Genoa, Merk started out collecting vinyl in his teenage years before spinning at local venues and producing his own music, which has since earned him several Beatport Top 10s and support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Solomun, and Patrick Topping. Arriving on the latter’s Trick imprint for the first time, Merk showcases his knack for crafting dancefloor-ready smashes as he flips the late noughties classic ‘Walking On A Dream’ by Empire Of The Sun into a raucous Tech House anthem.

Hurr needs little introduction with over 100 tracks and co-productions on some of the world’s biggest dance labels, alongside huge DJ support, most recently from Claptone, Nicole Moudaber, Steve Angello, Arielle Free, Wade, Danny Howard, Martin Garrix and David Guetta. Drawing from experiences of toxic infatuation, the song is driven by a reclamation of individualism and clarity that Zerllia hopes will inspire her listeners to cultivate in their own lives. “It’s about standing tall, feeling in control, and owning your emotions. I want people to feel bold and unstoppable when they hear it.”

After working with several producers on the demo, Zerllia ultimately partnered with Jeremy Smith from Lab Six, whose magic in the studio brought the track to life.
