Matt first came to playa with The Dusty Booty Ranch in 2019, but it felt like he was always there. After years of friends and family going, he was a natural. Instant family. And if you can tell a person’s character from their kids, then Matt scores a GIANT 100%.  You know he has to be an amazing person because his kids are amazing people. 

It feels like Matt has endless layers to pull back. It’s always something new and different (and gooood) with him. He’s a seasoned vet, mixing records since 1993. From a deep history with DnB, and a newer foray back to house music with a partnership with Woody as Simplow, their monthly- Second Saturdays at Timber Room. You never know where he’s going to take you, but you know you’re going to like it!

Live From the Chocolate Factory 9/8/22

This is a mix written by my power animal, who I found in a cave under the shores of Tofino during a shamanic drumming journey Tasha guided during one of our PhDJ classes. I found the white raven, but only after first encountering its protector: the black bear. The raven is known as a trickster in much of Indigenous mythology, and white ravens, which are extremely rare and found only in parts of the North-West of North America, are very shy and quite fragile, and yet they are still ravens – and therefore still tricksters. My white raven loves to dance and roll around amongst discarded seashells, and she loves to travel from her underground cave to the treetops, all incognito. She is playful, yet very serious, as her life is always at risk. Her playfulness manifests in this mix in a few ways, when it comes to placing songs in unexpected places and to holding the dancers in the deepest cave of their hearts for longer than I usually would. She is extremely powerful, and all the more so because her power is masked by her apparent fragility. Her bear protector is both shy and ferocious.

This was a stella night at the bestest venue in Nelson< Devilles. 4 of top of the south island female djs smashed it out one by one. I was up third, My set was fire, rolling, driving, bass lines with infectious melodies, i luvved it, such a receptive crowd, can't wait to do it again x

What a blessing it was to play at the Rumpus Room Stage the day before NYE. I decided to play some different sounds to break up the 4-4 style of music that was being played.

As always, the crowd at this incredible festival rose up with their energy. They delivered beautiful connections as they always do, making my job incredibly heartfelt and connected...
