Kate Cotter is a Reno native whose ethereal voice, poetic craftmanship, and off-beat sense of humor has earned her a loyal following. As the arts editor from the local weekly describes her: “It is the rare artist who can weave metaphor-rich lyrics, haunting vocals and catchy melodies into something that is neither self-serious nor sticky-sweet, something that falls on the indie side of pop and well-groomed side of folk.” Although reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, and at times drawing comparisons to Imogen Heap, Sarah McLachlan, and Dido, Cotter’s breathy voice has its own hypnotic charm.

Voted among the "Best Local Musicians" in Northern Nevada for 2006, 2007, and 2009, Cotter has won numerous prestigious awards and honors, including the Nevada Arts Council Fellowship and the Sierra Arts Foundation Performing Arts Grant. Cotter has played shows with a wide range of musicians, including the likes of Pat Benatar, Brett Dennen, folk legend John Gorka, and Seth Horan (formerly of Vertical Horizon). A nomad at heart, Cotter has toured nationally and internationally, often weaving the experiences of her travels into the texture of her music.

Her highly anticipated second and third albums, 'August' (2007 and 'Drink the Desert' (21010), were both released to a packed house at John Ascuaga's Celebrity Showroom (a venue graced by entertainers such as Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Indigo Girls, etc.), not only generated headlines such as "Nothing Hotter than Kate Cotter," but also earned August the title of "Best Local Album" for Northern Nevada for 2007 and Drink the Desert ranked #2 in the Reno Gazette Journal's "Top Albums of the Year.' August also ranked among KTHX's (100.1 FM) "Top 100 albums in 2007."

Keyser Soze has an original ska/rocksteady sound with strong jazz and soul influences. The 8-piece ensemble was originally formed by Jammal Tarkington and Rodney Teague. With the success of their first two releases, "Who is Keyser Soze?" 
and "Revenge", the band has made a strong presence for themselves touring regularly throughout the west coast. The group’s addictive sound has placed them in the position to share the stage with some of the best drawing headliners, including Michael Franti, The Wailers, Ozomatli, The English Beat, Toots & the Maytals, Steel Pulse, The Skatalites and Burning Spear. In 2011, Keyser Soze is excited for the release of their new recording, "But Not For You". The album features several striking vocal performances delivered by Tarkington and Teague. The single, "Next To Me", has already received significant air-play on college radio stations and reggae radio shows across the nation. This new 10 song LP will be one of the most heavily promoted albums to date through video, file sharing sites, & relentless touring. Keyser Soze will be bringing their incomparable style & infectious live performances to summer festivals, scooter rallies, ska-fests, & professional venues across the globe.
