A.A.L - Hopeless

There's not much in Tomi H's studio he uses a simple set up of Logic Pro X, various Digital Plugins and a couple of Midi & Analog Synths. Apart from a Yoga mat, Orange Amplifer, some key pictures of his own self-produced multi discipline abstract art on the wall, this is all Tomi needs to keep his haven in tact, keeping himself level and the creativity flowing. 

Creating is the main drive of Tomi from lifelong connections photographing peoples, to clothing brands, booking Djs in London Venues to fruitful business relationships. Tomi's greatest strength is his ability to reach out and make connections and his music is nothing but an extension of this. He creates emotion, colour and depth with his music that few others can attain to be able to achieve, through melody and retrictive use of percussion he manifests movement that connects. Taking progressive deep house to its core of dissonant melodies and emotion. 

 Music as always is a manifestation of its creator. Tomi is a calm, understanding, empathic yet full of energy. This, he says, is due to him meditating 30mins to an hour a day, not your typical Dj. He states this is the perfect antidote to the late nights and long sets. This level of contemplation is the largest influence on his music, bridging the gap between a deep meditation and losing yourself on the dancefloor. He insists this isn't a huge leap for people. I am inclined to agree. The music he creates sits aside peers and influencers from artists like Yotto, Solomun, Lee Burridge and Black Coffee to Kolsch, KANT & Claptone. The Apple doesnt fall far from the free in this case. 

For Tomi's first release as a solo artist and producer, he has recorded in his minimalist studio, his 'personal haven' he terms it. "Time we are in " was produced with Anjuna Deep, Armada Music & Glasgow Underground producer from Spain called  GRAZZE, accompanied by indie Singer/Song writer LAWN on vocals. This track is Set to be Released by Deep House Legends Tube & Berger on their new label ZEHN, also accompanied by a remix from the German Duo . Tom has also self released " Truth and Freedom" which was produced and finished in Berlin with Tomorrowland Masquerade Stage DJ Lars Moston, with mixing and mastering coming from GRAZZE. Tomi has honed his craft for over a decade playing clubs across London including the Cuckoo Club, XOYO and TAPE. Playing with some of the industries best including Eli & Fur and D'n'B legend Goldie.

Tomi through his formative years, grew into the musician and song writer he is today on the road touring with his then band that played SXSW and topped the MTVrock chart. He tells me the time spent in the van and the studio with his writing partner, of the time, taught him the patience, understanding and transparency it takes to make music that truly cuts through. This will become glaringly obvious when Tomi inevitably expands to bigger stages and connects with more ad more people through his electric sets and mesmerising production.
