In hot anticipation of Kasper Bjørke's fouth solo-longplayer, hafendisko presents the remixpackage for 'Rush', the first song taken off the new album.

A Kasper Bjørke single release wouldn't be the same without a string of superb remixes - a trait he managed to keep up over his countless releases on numerous labels. 

Here, 'Rush' is treated to some outstanding reworks by:
Abstraxion aka Harold Boué, a young French producer based in London and Marseille is known especially for his stellar debut album Breaking Lights, signed to Nicolas Jaars label Other People.

Abstraxion provides a mid-paced burner that adds arpeggiated synths and chops up the vocals to wonderful effect - maintaining that sense of melancholy from the original, but priming the track for more discerning dance-floor action. The dub takes things a notch deeper.

Copenhagen's rising star Brynjolfur provides a high energy killer take, thickening up the bottom end and developing the groove into a chug that references Kraftwerk and Donna Summer in a perfectly crafted pop context.

Philadelphia freaks Pink Skull's version of 'Rush' opts for a more acidic and spaced out direction in line with the trio’s narcotic electronic vibe. The full remix allows the vocals to float airlessly above the squelches and bumps - a supremely effective piece of outsider house music, complemented by the even-spacier dub.

Immersed in her studio, whilst listening to hours of mo-town and blues, Philippa has carved the 'Rainy Nights' EP. A project she describes as a "straight down the middle, sample-based deep house record, wearing its '90s influences on its sleeve, with pride." It's late night deep house, filled with emotion and groove, which speaks to us all.

Reptile Dysfunction launches Think Sideways Edits: a four-track vinyl EP with club cuts from Soul Clap, Charlie Rope, Rick Trainor & Noah Schy and Doorly himself.

Doorly and Reptile Dysfunction proudly present the first of their new vinyl Think Sideways Edits series, in which the label boss will be calling in favors from A-list stars and bright young guns to release some heavy duty, club-focussed edits, and sample-heavy cuts.

Since launching in late 2016, Reptile Dysfunction has been resolute in championing previously undiscovered talent alongside releases from firmly established artists. Now with the launch of a new vinyl edits series, and the first official Reptile Dysfunction parties just around the corner, the label looks set to have a landmark year.

With the summer season following sharply on its heels, Think Sideways Edits Vol.1 presents four disco-sampling, feel-good club edits ripe for pool parties and basements alike.

“This one features one from me that one been holding tight for a while. I’m now putting it out due to popular demand after people track IDing the hell out of it for the last few months. DJ Tennis’ highly acclaimed Life and Death imprint continues to traverse sonic boundaries with no exception. The next release Trooper comes from London-based producer Joseph Ashworth, featuring outstanding remixes from the inimitable Ron Trent and founder of Margot Records, Sebra Cruz.

“Trooper pushes a new sound that I have been exploring - with grit and excitement taking charge rather than finesse and tidiness. It makes me think of some kind of disturbing military march, a little bit agressive and a little bit noisy, hence the name.” - Joseph Ashworth

The Ron Trent version employs a stronger techno leaning at the outset, adding a vocal and ambient synths that take it on deeper journey. Sebra Cruz creates a powerful peaktime number, bass-focussed and euphoric. Second original track Laminated, perpetuates the perfect dancefloor rhythm with an abundance of drums, percussion and a heady dose of bass. 

Joseph Ashworth began his career on Needwant with his Grain LP, which showcased his innate ability to fuse melody with a techno beat. Since then, he’s had releases on Get Weird, Dirtybird, Pets Recordings and Anjunadeep. Legendary Ron Trent is regarded as one of the key figures in the birth of the Chicago music scene. He has an extensive back catalogue of prominent releases, founding four of his own labels. Sebra Cruz is the new solo endeavour of one half of Italian duo, and founder of Margot Records, Margot. Earlier this year he released a collaboration with DJ Tennis on their Truth Or Consequences EP.

International Dj, producer and remixer Jonathan Douglas Braverman, known as Ladies On Mars, has been on a musical journey since the conception of 2006 of his successful Minimal Techno music project. The artist born in Buenos Aires has accumulated numerous achievements, although it was his 2007 hit "We Are Not Lesvicon", published on Xela Digital, which really impelled Ladies On Mars to be in the eye of the storm, reaching within the TOP 40 of Beatport's Minimal. Another of his great achievements was in 2009 when he won the Beatport contest for remixing the song "Peace" by the group Depeche Mode, his remix became the best-selling band in Beatport for several years.

Since then, the native of Argentina has continued to evolve, mutating its sound, perfecting from the Minimal Techno of its beginnings to the Tech-House, current Funky House. Remixing artists like Aka Aka and Home Video. Editing his music on labels such as Prison Entertainment, Emi Music or his own label: Boom Zwapp Records.

In addition to having an impressive subsequent catalog of solo and collaborative productions, Ladies On Mars has also offered remixes for numerous top-level musicians, including: AKA AKA, Daniele Petronelli, Min & Mal, Home Video, etc ...

Outside of the studio, Jonathan is a touring DJ who is in great demand and his daily agenda is fuller. Taking their Marsian sound and a unique mix of spatial sounds with a lot of groove mixed with Funk, House and Tech-House directly to the dance floor in some of the best clubs, festivals and events in the world in countries, including: Germany, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.
