It was Memorial Day Weekend 2016, and the sun shined bright over the Detroit River. Pontchartrain stepped up to the decks at the Red Bull stage at Movement Electronic Music Festival donning his infamous "Detroit vs. Itself" t-shirt. His first song through the Rane rotary mixer was a dubplate made specifically for his set: “Afterlife”. It’s a brilliantly executed daytime disco rework that warrants the praise of summer anthem that it’s earning. 

On the flip is “Pool”, an equally sunny slomo beatdown rework from Blair French. It's a delightful blend of cerebral and soulful, and is finally getting a release after being originally championed by Peter Croce on his Le Mellotron Paris set back in early 2018. 

This 7" is pressed heavy and cut loud at 33.3 RPM with a normal non-dinked hole.

Cold Coffee & Cocaine is the eighth track on the 2018 posthumous album Piano & A Microphone, documenting a solo piano rehearsal by Prince from 1983. 

No studio version is known to exist, and it is not known if the track was ever intended for Purple Rain or any other project. The lyrics of the song are sung in Prince's "Jamie Starr" voice, suggesting that the track may have been done with The Time in mind.

This retreat is done with respect to the original by RocknRolla Soundsystem.

The third single and music video “Le Petit Prince” off of the forthcoming debut album “Journey to the Cosmic Soul” will take you on a ride that goes back to the future of celestial sounds and beauty, deep bass funk, serenading strings, and groovy synths.
This song was written shortly after Prince’s transition. “We wanted to channel a musical piece and visual concept that would share the beauty, originality, and celestial genius that he possessed. The 'Cosmic Soul' is the portal to infinity. The gateway to your true identity among the stars.” - Lady Moon
“Le Petit Prince” is the third visual production in anticipation of the upcoming debut album, following “Global Warning” (2019) and “Star Gazing” (2018).

We welcome Lady Moon & the Eclipse, on their first show and visit to Holyoke.

Being this show, their last of 2019, we got the opportunity to have a conversation with all the band about its origins, the meaning of representation of Cosmic Soul, with a multi-cultural proposal that fuses soul, R&B, afrobeat, jazz, and Congolese roots. This diverse band work together as an alignment of talents, that creates music connected to the cosmic soul energy.

The voices of Lady Moon & the Eclipse are sisters Ngonda Badila, on lead vocals; Ntangou Badila, and Nkoula Badila, on backup vocals, representing Congo.
The rest of the band includes Arlen Ginsburg, on the Keyboards (from Chicago, USA); Jonathan Camuzeaux, on the Bass (from France); and Ken Reichl, on the Drums (from Japan).

Our podcast session includes the performance of their songs "Augmented" as the opening track, and it wraps up with "Vibrations".
