Tried to shoot the bird with my grandpa’s rifle
Damned gun just blew in my hand
Took the bus to the town’s hospital 
And the doctor told me

Is that a gunshot here?
What the hell ’d you get yourself into today

Doc let me hanging and my hand was dripping
And through the door ï heard him calling
The coppers on the phone, sayin’t’was about Dave
And the last thing I heard was surrender there

And the coppers went bang
And blew my brains away

You know, it was a vary unfair situation
The policeman was crooked; the doc was corrupt
The office’s daughter and the doc’s wife both have Dave derangement syndrome and above all
