"Saphy Vong founded the platform Chinabot for the Asian electronic community. It acts as a digital diaspora and should prevent misrepresentations and facilitate direct exchange. As Lafidki, he weaves ideas from Asian traditions together with elements from synthwave, hypnagogic pop, and psychedelic noise. Tribal beats and pop sounds give his music a shrill lustre and playful character. Cafe OTO opened in April 2008 with the aim of providing a home for creative new music that exists outside of the mainstream. It comprises one large cafe/performance space open during the day serving food and drink with an evening programme of live music almost seven nights a week. 

OTOROKU is part of OTOProjects - a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) that has been set up to manage the programme at Café Oto. Any profits from OTOROKU are put back into supporting what we do and will help us to continue programming the best musicians and performers from all over the world.

Chinabot is a platform and collective created to change the dialogue surrounding Asian music.

Ayankoko is the solo project of French artist David Vilayleck, devoted to experimental music, sound art, noise, concrete approaches, and live electronics.
Active since 2004, the project explores perception, error, and the porous threshold between the beautiful and the abrasive—treating sound as both material and inquiry.

Deeply prolific, Ayankoko draws on Vilayleck’s background as an improvising guitarist rooted in jazz and free jazz, combined with two years of study in concrete music under Denis Dufour (GRM). While academically trained in listening and sonic morphology, he remains largely self-taught in electronic production, shaping his practice through custom systems and generative structures. He designs complex patches in Max/MSP, ppooll, Ableton Live, and his own Tidal Cycles code and functions, giving the music its distinctive duality—generative yet clinical, organic yet algorithmically precise.

Since 2004, Ayankoko has released widely across the netlabel and Creative Commons ecosystem, appearing on Clinical Archives, Amp-Recs, Headphonica, Colin Johnco Records, Hazard Records, TecnoNucleo, DrainingBeatsOnTheBrain, Dog-Eared Records, Echo Obscura, and more. He also founded Ayan Records, an extensive audio collection on archive.org that now includes over 140 releases.

Ayankoko has performed throughout Europe—France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Hungary—in venues and contexts dedicated to experimental sound. His performances and collaborations have connected him with pivotal spaces and communities such as Café OTO (London), Halle 6 (Munich), Multiversal (Berlin), and klingt.org (Vienna).

Collaborations extend across multiple generations of the avant-garde, including work with Linda Sharrock, Norbert Stammberger, Klaas Hübner, Reform Art Unit (Vienna), Trashvortex collective (Paris), Engelstiere (Berlin), drummer Gerri Jaeger (Amsterdam), visual noise artist Lauren Rodz, and many others.

Seretan uses sequencers, drum machines and samplers to create distinct style of music which is based on additive structures, sustained textures and unusual combination of sounds.

𝖕𝖆𝖓𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖕𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖑 (est. 2013) is a concert/club series and online platform focusing on rough-edged non-western and tropical music in its many iterations. We balance the new with the trailblazers of old, seeking out authenticity and new movements. Originally based in Rotterdam, pantropical now splits its activities between Denmark and The Netherlands.
