
Chess is a native Washingtonian raised in both S.E. D.C. and Crowne Heights Brooklyn New York, educated at the University of the District of Columbia playing college football all four years.

Chess has been involved with the arts his entire life for him the natural want to create was both duty and desire.
His lifetime commitment included founding and producing DLP music works pouring personal resources into local D.C. artists for years.

The list of music collaborators is extensive and includes;  Super Producers Chucky Thompson, Michael 40 Dog Robinson, and Maurice Mo Digga Randolph. Go-Go legends Donell Floyd, Michael Neal, Darin X and Rob F. Rappers Nonchalant, Supreme Corleone and T Burns.

Chess accepted an arts scholarship to study acting at the prestigious Conservatory Circle in the Square on Broadway in N.Y. City. He completed his course of study with honors and worked the Broadway circuit and the N.Y. performance Poetry scene simultaneously.
 
Chess departed his breath as a working actor abruptly to breathe life into his family; caring, providing, and protecting following the model demonstrated by his parents. His passions to express truth in art and serve his respective community was reignited to full flame as a result of the Trevon Martin verdict. He speaks to his son meeting him by the door as he returned from work the day the verdict was announced, confused, saddened and frustrated. His response was to channel his sons energy giving him historical context and appreciation for his forbearers, while lighting a path thru thought word and deed.
 
Chess is a modern day renaissance man who truly believes it’s the message not the messenger what’s channeled not the channelor, what’s vesselled not the vesselor.

I'm SHEFLOWZ, a passionate player in the rap game who is about the uplifting of all things positive for the purpose of exposing this generation to "all things better" to include the love of Christ.   I love all types of music and am interested in so many different things to include, traveling, drumming, architecture, audio and video editing, and much more.  My art transcends music alone.  I draw, paint, and am a graphic designer.  I love living!  These things allow me to experience life to the fullest!

If there were one word in the dictionary that would aptly describe Michael White that word would be “passionate”.  He’s passionate about worship, passionate about God’s people, and passionate about proclaiming God’s word through song.  It’s that same passion that’s readily apparent in his leading of praise and worship.  A singer, songwriter and musician, White emerges as a new artist onto the gospel music landscape with a refreshing message of inspiration, hope and assurance with his independent release “Conqueror” on MW Music.
 
A native Washingtonian, Michael White, was groomed in the church. The son of a preacher, he carefully watched his father declare the word as he preached throughout Northern Virginia. During this time, he developed a desire for music and he began singing with his father at age five. When the youth saw a need for a church musician, he prayed that God would give him the gift.  God answered his prayer and the eight-year old took to the piano. That was just the beginning of his love for music and Michael trained himself, learning to play by ear.

Michael’s talent continued to blossom and at the age of twelve, Michael started playing for the Senior Choir at Zion Baptist Church in Berryville, Virginia.  By age fourteen, he was playing for all the church’s choirs.  He was also privileged to be the primary musician for the Northern Virginia Baptist Association Youth and Young Adult Choir.  It was the start of a career in music ministry that eventually led him to the doors of Reid Temple AME Church where he began serving under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Lee P. Washington, as Minister of Praise & Worship and Associate Minister of Music over the Children for Christ, Youth and Young Adult Choirs. "It was during that season of teaching songs of worship, (WHEN) I developed a love for leading people into the presence of God," says White. In the Spring of 1995, Michael White developed the Praise and Worship Ministry, where he "found [his] true calling and purpose." From the origins of Reid Temple's new found ministry emerged White's own personal group, Michael White and True Praise. Shortly after, Michael's first song  'Speak the praise' followed in 1997. Michael is currently the Minister of Music of Reid Temple’s North campus in Silver Spring Maryland.

His church connection afforded him the opportunity to record with Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music, Minister Freda Battle, Jeff Jacobs, Toby Palmer & Chosen Generation and Phillip Carter & The Sounds Of Victory. Michael has also been afforded the opportunity to minister with recording artists, Kirk Franklin, Darius Brooks, Gaye Arbuckle and most recently was afforded an opportunity to have one of his songs “Great and Marvelous God” released on Troy Sneed’s “My Heart Says Yes” CD in 2011 and Minister Freda Battle’s “How Glorious and Excellent” CD in 2012. Most recently, “Bless the Name of the Jesus”, one of Michael’s praise and worship anthems, was a featured song and radio single for the Stellar Award winning Earl Bynum and the Mount Unity Choir 2013 release. “Most songs of worship are birthed out of my private time with the Lord” says White. “When you spend time in the presence of God, He will sing over you with joy”. As a worship leader, he knows it’s simply the anointing of God that allows him to write and sing songs that will lead others into God’s presence.

It’s that gifting that has prepared him to lead listeners into God’s presence on his debut project, “Conqueror”.  A collection of praise and worship tunes, the CD aims to bring the lover of God into the ultimate presence of God. “Do you remember that feeling you get when you first fall in love with someone? Your heart is beating heavily and you just can’t keep still,” recounts Michael. “You do everything in your power to remember what took place when you were together and your whole existence revolves around that love relationship. You can’t wait to be in their presence. That’s the feeling I would like the audience to have about Jesus when they listen to “Conqueror.”
