_ WHAT 
Like many people, I have a habit of keeping a diary. I write in it every day or so. It's in a folder in my PC  named 'Il Bosco Sacro' (Italian for 'The Sacred Grove'). I don't know why I call it that, it's not a conscious thing. This diary, though, is written with sounds and musical signs, not words. 
To date I've kept it secret, even from my partner and my closest friends. 
For some reason, now, following the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to unseal some pages of this secret diary and share them with you.

_ HOW
In my secret diary sometimes I write short entries a few seconds long, sometimes more articulate records a few minutes long. Sometimes it's an easy listen, sometimes it needs some nice dedication.
I have only one rule: what comes out immediately, as it comes out in real time, is what remains on the page. No revisions, no afterthoughts, and no other purpose than to capture my thoughts, images, reactions and feelings as quickly and in the most pristine form that I can. A sort of "compositional improvisations", if you like. 
In short, this is the unspoiled music of a composer before and beyond the music market...

_ IMAGES
Every page of my secret diary that I'm now unlocking for you is accompanied by an image, created or selected in reaction to the music, by visual artists that I like and admire. 
The image of the page you're listening to today was made by Marcello Cangemi, a wonderful Sicilian photographer and intermedia artist based in Berlin (who, for the record, is also my younger brother!).

As for the music itself, I don't really know what to say beside what I already told you. It's really a non consciuos thing. Yes, even if you dislike what you hear: as a music composer, I love to listen in the first place: from you, from everyone. In fact 90% of a musician's job is listening! 
By sharing this entries from a very intimate and secret diary, I'm making the first move. So don't be shy and let your ideas and emotions be heard. I'm here to listen to you as much as you're here to listen to me.
