Hats & Klaps have constantly explored various House and Techno sub-genre combinations all while bringing their special sensually dynamic vibes to every dance floor along the way... Originally hailing from the Middle East, they each grew up feeding on the sound of classical Arabic music and other native instruments. They became in their own form musically enriched with an artistic taste, combining that with their love for all sounds that is groove-oriented.

JEME enjoys various genres and sounds aswell as having a passion for melodic sounds. Combining traditional instruments with cosmic and nostalgic tones, JEME aims to provoke his audience with an array of emotions all at once.

Meridian Brothers are back with a new studio album, the bizarre and wonderful ‘Salvadora Robot’. Heading deeper into the tropical rhythms of Latin America and the Caribbean each song on the album focuses on a different style and playfully twists it into Meridian Brothers’s surreal landscape. Released on Soundway Records on 16th June the album was recorded at Eblis Álvarez’s appropriately named Isaac Newton Studios in Bogota, Colombia.

Originally formed in 1998 it was the previous album ‘Deseperanza’ that brought Álvarez’s Meridian Brothers to the attention of the wider world. Released worldwide in 2012, the album’s unique aesthetic and freaked-out blend of Latin rhythms and psychedelic grooves won him new fans the world over. DJ and tastemaker Gilles Peterson selected ‘Guaracha U.F.O (No Estamos Solos...)’ as his favourite track of 2012.

‘Deseperanza’ focussed heavily on salsa rhythms but on his new release Álvarez based each track in a different Latin American style. For example ‘Somos los Residentes’ finds it inspiration in Dominican Republic merengue while ‘Baile ultimo….’ is a slow and sad reggaeton. The lyrics talk of a man who has been sent to the electric chair because he was dancing too much reggaeton, a style that isn’t accepted as “good taste” within Colombia.

The release of ‘Deseperanza’ brought them to Europe for the first time, making appearances across Europe and at some of the prestigious festival including Roskilde and Transmusicales. The band will be returning to Europe this summer.

Exposed to underground music by his older brother, DJ & Designer Khaled Alammary, Baloo’s music is tinged with jazz, disco, funk, soul, and new wave. He’s held residencies in Dubai, Bahrain, and most recently in Saudi Arabia, with performances all over the world including Beirut, Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Mykonos, London, New York, Washington DC, Miami, and Boston.

Baloo, a founding partner at 9SS Creative and 9SICKSICK - Saudi design and lifestyle brands - developed the concept, brand identity and experience for MDL Beast, the music, art and culture brand, the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia, and the largest festival in the Middle East.

Baloo stands out as a purist, only playing timeless tracks from a catalog that spans over three decades of house music.

As always it's great to connect from music heads all around the world. Saudi DJ Baloo has been playing music since the mid 90s, inspired by his older brother, Khaled’s journey into house music. Finding his roots in late the 90s east coast US Underground house scene which has gone onto influence him ever since. Baloo always brings that deep, dirty groove tinged vibe laced with disco, tech, and funk notes. Thanks for the mix, it's superb.
