Wanderer, wonderer, journeyman, folksinger — Nate Taylor fuses story and experience on a quest for connection through music — to people, to nature, to truth. Often compared to Nick Drake for his resonant fingerpicking, Taylor paints an ethereal soundscape with his soaring vocals that implores a kind of reverence for the moment. His songs wrestle with love, loss, and purpose in pursuit of the ideal that music can be a force for understanding in an ever more disparate world. While a faithful steward of the Boston folk scene for much of the year, Taylor completed his fourth annual house show tour in 2018, affectionately titled There And Back Again, or TABA 2018, covering 12,000 miles and living out his vision of community through music. In December 2018, Taylor released “TABA 2018 LIVE,” a collection of live recordings from TABA 2018. Join the adventure when Nate comes to your town!

Hailing from Scituate Massachusetts, Emergency Exit is a band that has endured through labor of love and a passion for music since 2003. Originally founded by three teenage friends playing punk covers on cheap guitars in a small suburban bedroom, Emergency Exit has evolved into a mature rock outfit that’s recorded several full length albums and played shows across New England. Largely recording, producing, and releasing its own records, the band’s foundation is rooted in DYI mentality that has shaped their records with deeply layered guitars and vocals. The latest iteration of the group, consisting of Brendan Farragher (vocals/guitar), Sam Johnson (vocals/guitar), Alex Ferris (bass), and Ben Johnson (drums/vocals), features a songwriting duo much in the spirit of major influencers the Lawrence Arms, The Menzingers, and Alkaline Trio. Exit’s latest album, “It’s a Classic!”, finds the band continuing to expand upon their sound while opining on what it knows best: life, love, and the constant struggle to grow up.

I’m Sal Daher, host of the Angel Invest Boston Podcast. After immigrating to Boston as a child and attending Belmont High School, I studied engineering at MIT and Stanford. Decades of work in international finance followed. During that time, I invested in a handful of ventures founded by friends and acquaintances. Now, I’m a member of Walnut Ventures and MIT Angels and spend most of my time as an angel investor taking stakes in about a dozen startups per year.
