We are proud to present you with the very first edition of the Balance Selections podcast series with which we'll aim to bring you some of the very best in up and coming, established and outright interesting artists working in the scene today. For the first edition of Balance Selections podcast we head to the Netherlands to feature one of the most promising underground producers to emerge from Europe: Navar.

When we recently spoke to Guy J (http://www.balancemusic.com.au/features/guy-j-interview-balance-presents/)  -who remixed Navar's 'Phases of Grief' track for his Balance Presents- we asked him who he would select to do a Balance Selections podcast: "I would choose Navar as i find his productions have its very own style and something unique to it. He can do dancefloor friendly tracks or deeper tracks and it will always have his sound on it. He is very talented producer and I have plans for him on my Lost & Found label."

Coming from one of the scene's most loved producers that is indeed a glowing endorsement - and we have to say that we agree with him. Navar's production style can fluctuate between grooves that pack a heavy punch ('Verbeeldingskracht') to more restrained and deeper melodic sounds ('Atemzüge'), and for his podcast Navar has delivered a deep and techy workout that sits somewhere in between those tracks. This podcast definitely showcases that there is more to Navar's musical range than what you might think....

Description:
Music is colorful, diverse and vibrant as the butterflies. Almost 180,000 different species live in 127 families. The music by Boris Brejcha is like a "Feuerfalter" (copper). On one side the butterfly is relaxing and floating on the wind, but on the other hand he also sets with steam and fire to a fall into a low altitude. This is how it feels when Brejcha makes music.

The fourth album is exactly the description of this "Feuerfalter", a kind of backflash into the impressive career of Boris Brejcha. An album that deliberately shows how the artist works versatile. Times slightly floating, sometimes wild hitting the wing, always full of passion. The influences of his travelings and performances characterize his art again.

This creates a music that may be accompanied on Brejchas audience the whole day: at home, in a relaxed atmosphere or just at night, when the trip through the clubs starts. On the album "Feuerfalter" this individuality is turned on. Brejcha even picks up the desire of his ans to weave a few quieter tracks into his cosmos.

A bit of history.
This DJ duo that brings together in 2015 after many years of friendship, love of music and begin they idyllic musical journey. They have performed on Spring Break and Refresh Festival, and on all underground parties in Montenegro, a mix of desktop shared with the great electronic scene such as Umek, Spartaque, Spektre, Chris Liebing, Derrick Carter, Miss Kittin, Hernan Cattaneo, which in a way, was a step further towards the top, especially when you have the experience and technical skills. They have performed with all the leading names of the local scene and its first birthday celebrated with Tijana Kabić, Ivan radojevic and Luka Vukovic from Serbia, and in the future it is expected , is more birthdays, fabulous parties and artists from which they derive knowledge and skills. They are music producers and the first release is scheduled for March 21 this year at the record label Little Helpers. Their musical direction is of minimal tech-and to groovy tech house with strong bass lines.

This past weekend I went and spent some time on a ranch with some pretty fantastic people in the Sierra Nevada foothills and had my equipment with me. A life-long musician originally from South Florida, Adam Santucci dabbed in various musical projects before embarking on a solo career as an electronic music producer and DJ under the Air Zaïre moniker in 2011. By the following year, the then-budding DJ/producer packed his bags and moved to NYC where he quickly fell into the local music scene and gained momentum following the release of various singles and remixes. In 2016, Air Zaïre relocated to Los Angeles, where his new home on the west coast has inspired a wave of new disco edit releases.

This week we close out our 2017 mix series with a very special guest. Seven Davis Jr. joined us as our headliner a few weeks back for our annual charity event with Understated. He along with our other artists performed to the delight of an amazing crowd and helping to raise awareness and donations for our designated charities.

Seven Davis Jr. has had a fantastic rise in prominence in the past few years with a highlight tour supporting Flying Lotus recently. Releases on Ninja Tune, Ten Thousand Yen, and his own newly developed imprint Secret Angels have helped him develop a healthy discography in a relatively short period of time. With a new EP just recently released the promise of much more music is sure to be on the horizon heading into 2018.

Today we’re pleased to present our latest guest mix from an artist brand new to the LAMP family. Gianni is an Oregon native who first cut his teeth as a DJ in Pittsburg’s eminent hip hop scene. Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2016 he has been making waves in the city’s expansive hip hop and beat scene crushing sets at the popular Cuffing Season and Re-Up party installments, as well as providing DJ support for burgeoning rappers including Benji, Omenihu, and Andre Hondo. In addition to expanding his career as a DJ, he’s focused his gaze on production and has been working tirelessly in the studio on solo and collaborative projects slated for release later this year. For his guest mix he delivers a stellar selection of funk, soul, hip hop and disco infused beats sure to induce good vibes and better dance moves for those within earshot.
