“The !! project has always just been for me. It was born out of love for the sound, a love for the thump of a dark room in full motion, and a place where I could express myself creatively. While I sit on a pile of !! records, none of them were ever really intended to be heard. I never really thought they were good enough, or meet the standard of what good techno sounds like. I'm grateful for my friends at PUZL Records who have always encouraged me to keep creating, keep learning and pushing this project forward, despite the feelings I have about my own sound.

I put these records out because I love them. They make me happy. I know my arrangements are not standard, I know I make some weird shit, and that's ok. My hope is that simply someone, somewhere, plays the record and smirks. That's good enough for me."

Whats up LAMP Fam!! Today we are excited to showcase So Cal native Franklyn Watts. He has a brand new release out today ‘Corazón Partió’ with his buddy dATELESS. This will be the second release on the upstart label from dATELESS, Thanks For Sending.   We fell in love with the track from first listen.  There are some really fun and unique sounds that that create a nice dynamic with this song which give way to a strong vocal hook that pulls everything together to create a solid groove to get you in the dancing mood. This is just one of many releases from Franklyn that really show his passion and drive when it comes to producing and contributing to the amazing house music scene here in Los Angeles and beyond. He has a catalog that spans many of the top labels. I personally have been rinsing his track Cuando Mueves from Safe Records in my sets recently and others include CUFF, Repopulate Mars, Dirtybird Records, Glasgow Underground and there are so many more.   We are honored to have Franklyn contribute to the LAMP mix and Interview series. He is someone we have been following for quite sometime and are huge fans of his music and glad we finally got a chance to connect with him. Hey there LAMP Fam. We are extremely excited today to share with you new music and a guest mix from an artist we are very fond of here at LAMP, Tim Engelhardt. Over the years he  has put together an absolutely incredible portfolio of music and established himself as one of the top producers of Melodic House/ Techno/ Progressive/ whatever you want to call it, dance music. As part of a new collective and label called Scenarios, Tim has a new EP that was released April 1st, 2022 called ‘Here To Stay’.  It is the first instalment of the series and is a collaboration from three of the five members of the collective, Engelhardt, Sean Doron and Maga. The Scenarios project is made up of five artists and the label will be releasing music and putting together events almost exclusively within this group which includes the aforementioned artists. Scenarios is rounded out with two more outstanding producers, Yulia Niko and Emanuel Satie.  The first EP consists of two exceptional tracks ‘Here To Stay’ along with ‘You & I, Paradise’ feat DUDDHA.  You can hear both of them in the exclusive guest mix provided by Engelhardt down below and you can pick them up from Beatport or add them to your Spotify lists by hitting the links a little further down. Another 4th of July...another Maikol mix for my friends at LAMP! This annual tradition has become very special as it always ends up being a very influential time in my life every year. When I look back on my LAMP mixes they were all transformative moments in my life where I've been able to capture the milestones, and this one is no different. This time around I have quit my day job at UMG and bought a one way ticket out of LA after 8 years of providing good times for good people to hopefully continue doing so wherever I travel to next. This mix consists of the music discovered during and inspired by my first month away, which has been in Barcelona, influenced by DJ sets heard at Primavera Sound, Sonar, Offsonar, as well as sets from Melé and Theo Kottis b2b Ryan Elliott. On his first LAMP release, Feelings, Portland-based artist LEO ISLO focuses his efforts into a chillwave-laden house track saturated with warm pianos, pulsing baselines, and washy guitars. LAMP member Leo Islo joins forces with Tontario on an emotionally charged journey in 'Coexist'. The subtle crackle of a vinyl can be heard as Islo's soothing lyrics echo through the shrouds of a hazy, cavernous abyss. Anderson .Paak - Til It's Over (Damon Steele Remix)

We are really excited to share this premiere with you today from label Gents & Dandy's. With its roots firmly planted in house it has been going strong since its inception in 2014. Label owner Khillaudio brings us the latest release which is comprised of his new original "Swingin' Times". In addition the EP consists of two incredible remixes coming from Das Carma x RMR and the focus of our premiere comes from the one and only Sebb Junior. This Spanish producer ironically is known for his french inspired house music filled with his infectious grooves and melodies. He has put a wonderful spin on the original and taken us to a special place.

Sebb starts off the remix with a tantalizing vocal along with the lovely Rhodes style piano from the original while the main groove sort of hangs out in the background teasing us. A fun little bass line peaks its way through from time to time gradually becoming more consistent. Eventually  setting us up for the introduction of the main groove. Its one of those classic house grooves that Sebb is so well know for creating. Nothing fancy or flashy, no big build ups or drops but when it hits, it is pure magic for the mind body and soul. Full of vibrant chords and an infectious bass line it is hard not to feel a certain way when this track hits your ears. The first time this touched my ears I was instantly drawn into the song and couldn't help but start bouncing to the beat. Not many songs are that impactful the moment you first hear them. Keep an eye on this one it has classic written all over it. Look out for the full release on May 4th from @gentsndandysrecords

Back when we were just getting going with things here at LAMP, I put together a Track of the Day review for Kaiserdisco's Jet Stream. That was #002 off of their label KD Raw, and was released in early 2015. Today I am happy to share release #026 produced by the duo which consists of two tracks "Form" & "Figure". That Technicolor palm that graces all of their album covers is like a beacon to me that is saying, "hold on stop what you are doing and listen to the hand cause I got some techno for you!" Our premiere for you today Figure is the latest techno gem from these two and it releases tomorrow. 

Kaiserdisco have been and continue to be a powerful force and wonderful contributors to the world of house and techno for over a decade now. Sharing their love for music across the continents. Being the techno geek that I am Figure was a no brainer when it was presented to us. The opening kick grabbed right away. I love how big and warm it feels. It is like someone wrapping me in a blanket of bass. Continuing down the road we get a lot of really interesting percussive elements, Shakers and rides combined with really hollowed out bass line that drive and give the song a gritty warehouse vibe. A little ways further down the road a plucky rave synth comes in that meanders and modulates throughout the track reminding me of some of that old industrial techno from the late 90's. This track pumps hard and I can just imagine the crowd going absolutely nuts when this track blasts through the speakers. Today we’re extremely excited to share a very special guest mix from a world-renowned hit-making producer and one of the finest DJs to ever come out of The Netherlands. The Flexican rose to international prominence back in 2013 when his track “Bumaye” was readapted by Major Lazer in one of their biggest hits “Watch Out For This (Bumaye)”. After a two year hiatus touring and releasing as a solo artist, the Flexican made a triumphant return back in September with the release of his stellar new single “Come to Me.” Since then the Flexican has been back in rare form tearing up dance floors across Europe and Asia, hosting his radio show called “High Fidelity”, and preparing for a headlining set at ADE next week. Got a good one here for you all today! One of my absolute favorite producers over the last 4 or 5 years has been Klanguenstler. His range and style are ever changing but one thing remains constant and that is his productions are always top notch. When I heard that he had teamed up with the legendary Alan Fitzpatrick and his label We Are The Brave, my musical spidey sense got all tingly. If you have been following our Track of the Day selections over the last couple of years then you will know how much we appreciate this incredible label. It is a privilege to be able to share this new track “Karma Chords” with you all today courtesy of We Are The Brave and Klangkuenstler.

One of three new originals on the EP, Karma Chords is one of those tracks that makes me feel like I got transported back to the late 90’s warehouses in the Bay Area growing up. A rolling percussive groove gets things going, giving the song that locomotive feel, like it’s constantly driving forward harder and harder until it gets to that top speed. Joining into the fray is a few different ravey synth stabs that really get the track moving and give it a really classic jackin techno vibe. It may take a minute for the track to get moving but when it reaches full speed and the whole arrangement is working in harmony you better watch out cause there is no stopping this train. Today we’re buzzing to premiere a track from an enigmatic new producer by the name of partywithray. Although new to the scene, Ray has been busing making his presence felt at LA’s underground house music parties, with a combination of his high-energy sets and his striking sense of style behind the decks. LAMP Premiere: partywithray - Baby Boy (ray flip)

So much amazing music coming your way this week. If you are familiar with Lucati and Dateless then you probably know they recently started a new label, Kȯlmē Records. These two are just cracking the 1st egg and oozing out the very beginnings of what is going to be a full on 3 egg omelette in the coming months and years as individual artists and label owners. I jumped at the chance to premiere one of the tracks off their upcoming release which is a compilation featuring 4 very talented artists. Rounding out the group of artists is Black V Neck, EMUH, Sterium and the focus of our premier lies with MKJAY.

Quite simply this track is fucking sick! I wouldn't be much of a writer (not that i am that great anyway) if that's all I said, but sometimes I feel  that is all that is needed. Words often times just convolute things but there are some strong emotions invoked in me when I listen to this track and I will attempt to share them with you now. First off I am not sure if there is a particular part of Brazil where they breed crazy producers or if there is something in the water down there but I am constantly blown away by the level of talent I keep coming across from that country. I had been familiar with MKJAY but I am a fan now for sure after diving into his catalog. For this compilation his track Nu Funk stood out for its unique and dancefloor driven style. An encouraging vocal gets us amped up as the the groove booms away, laden with rolling tom's and the perfect amount of atmosphere. What comes next in the drop is so unique and I am obsessed with it. The wonky drawn out synth is what gets me and not just the first time, every time. I love the tension it creates, like someone pulling a string on a bow super tight, and then how he rolls it into the little synth line that carries in between the phrases. This song is pure dancefloor fire. Make sure to look for this along with the other 3 three tracks that will be accompanying the "Newkomers" EP. Release Date Jan. 28th

Today we have a bangin’ new premiere from our mysterious friend partywithray. For today’s feature, Ray delivers a formidable flip of the iconic single “Swimming Pools (Drank)” by Kendrick Lamar. Rays Flip pitches down Lamar’s prolific performance for that deep and ominous vocal character that permeates throughout Ray’s tracks. Building upon the vibe, Ray replaces the original instrumentation with a heavy hitting deep house track of his own design. On top of his usual banging drums and bass, Ray elaborates on the melody with cinematic synth lines fondly reminiscent of early Justice or Deadmau5 records. Time for some more new music from one of our favorite labels here at LAMP. Over the past couple years We Are The Brave has quickly become one of the top record labels showcasing some of the worlds top producers of House and Techno. Headed up by Alan Fitzpatrick he has put together a massive compilation ELECTRIC SOUL MUSIC VOL. 1 that is set for release May 3rd. There are 20 brand new original tracks from a huge assortment of producers that have caught the eye of Fitzpatrick recently. We are honored to be a to give you a sneak peak of one of the tracks. One artist that has really been standing out for me over the past couple of years is Frankyeffe. He has been working tirelessly for many many years and his efforts are quickly gaining him much deserved attention. He returns to the label with his contribution to the compilation "The Legend".

Rumbling through your brain like a freight train at full speed a fierce groove hits you right in the face from the first beat. Luckily we are just getting started as a few little percs enter the fray giving us some more momentum. A quick little drum break and Frankyeffe is about to set is into hyperspeed, as he brings in the most fantastic rave stabs one could ever hope for, shooting us off out into outer space. If you enjoy good house and techno and cant get excited about this track you might want to have your pulse checked. This is an instant classic that will stand the test of time and still be a banger 20 years from now. I feel like I can say that about quite a few tracks on this compilation and label as a whole. A huge testament to the man Alan Fitzpatrick and the team supporting him with the label. Make sure to grab the pre-order so you can enjoy the album in its entirety when it drops May 3rd. We got a rising young talent out of Chicago this week bring some straight fire with this week's mix. John Summit has been releasing music for a very short time, only about about a year and a half and has gathered the attention of major label owners Mark Knight, Claude Von Stroke, Gene Farris and Lee Foss who have all signed his tracks to their labels. Hello LAMP Fam!! Premiere time again. Today we have Manchester producer Rudosa with a new one from his label Moments In Time. The EP titled Impetuous is a three tracker that includes the title track along with, The Last Act, and our premiere for today Nature Of Consciousness. Moments In Time is a relatively new label started late last year by Rudosa and this will be the third album released by the label. Providing a new outlet for the artist and specializing in intense and mesmerizing techno that is taking the world over at the moment. The album will be available this Friday the 30th of October across all platforms digital.

I first came across Rudosa with one of his releases for another Manchester based label We Are The Brave.  He has also had releases on some of my other favorites Suara, Terminal M, as well as others. His style is hard, driving, drum laden techno will move its way through every inch of your techno loving soul. Nature Of Consciousness is just that. It does not hold back for the faint of heart. A massive kick coupled with a multitude of other percussive elements drive hard from the opening bar. There is no respite as the further into the track we get the more massive it becomes. A growling synth line underlying a sharp arp synth that pierces through the high frequency spectrum brings the track full circle. We are absolutely  loving this track and super excited to share it with you today. Make sure to keep an eye out for it this Friday. Below we have all the info you will need to stay on top of it. Moments In Time is a new Manchester based label run by Mark Bradbury aka Rudosa</strong> who kicked off the labels first release ‘Obsolescence’ in 2019. A 3-track release compromising of hammering drums, intensity and clever synth work. The release and label mark a supported change into a linear, darker and harder style of techno for the young producer. 

Support for new talent is something essential to Mark and the label – MIT002, a 5 track VA saw uncompromising techno from Gijensu and exciting new French talent Blicz, who’s had key support for his releases from Amelie Lens.

Rudosa is stepping up for the third release ‘Impetuous’ this October, with a 3-tracker. The title track is jacking with a 90s club energy to it and a pumping rhythm. ‘Nature Of Consciousness’ is the broody track of the release with ominous undertones and an unnerving arp line. Trippy trance influences alongside some punchy drums make up ‘The Last Act’.

Hello LAMP Fam!! Premiere time again. Today we are excited to share the upcoming release from Dave Sinner on EI8HT Records, out Jan 29th, 2021. Sinner has been at it for the better half of the last decade and is making his presence known with a couple of huge releases on We Are The Brave, along with Kraftek, Phobic and several others and he is kicking off the year right with this one for Eats Everything and Andres Campo's label EI8HT. One of the first tracks I ever came across was several years back when Dave collaborated with Campos for a track on Suara. Bringing it back full circle for this release he brings us three new fantastic Techno tracks that are absolutely massive. For our Premier today we will be focusing on Endless Motion.

Endless Motion is a fantastic track with a ton of character. Subtly getting things going with a straight to the point groove we are quickly treated to a wonderfully rich and booming kick.  Sinner gradually begins to introduce the elements of the song over the next 32 bars or so. Giving us a taste of the simple but effective vocal sample a nice high perc and hints of the main synth line which is a sound I am always a sucker for that kinda sounds like someone beating on a huge hollowed out piece of PVC pipe. When it all comes together the track takes on a bit of an acid vibe and really picks up energy becoming this sort of massive thing that I can’t wait to hear on  a huge system. It is so full and pleasing to the ears. You can feel the song throughout your whole body and it makes me want to get back to the dancefloor so bad. Each of the other tracks in the release are easily on the same plane as this one and we highly recommend you add them to your collection or spotify as soon as you get the chance.

The Barcelona born and raised producer & DJ, Dave Sinner, opens up EI8HT’s 2021 account with three firecrackers on the ‘Never Enough’ EP. 

With previous releases for Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave, Kraftek and Unrilis, Sinner chisels out a trio of groovy and hypnotising tracks that flaunt this flourishing producer’s talents. ‘Never Enough’ is a sleek and breezy roller, with industrial touches to its sonic fabric, whilst ‘FXXK’ ramps up the tempo for a blistering and tropical techno romp. ‘Endless Motion’ wraps up the EP with some teasing acidic synth work at play amongst the industrious beats. 

Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s EI8HT imprint has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2019, issuing a constant stream of intelligent and funky techno releases from the likes of Truncate, Gaston Zani, Black Girl / White Girl, Dok & Martin as well as releases from the label bosses themselves.
