This was my entry into the recent Blessed Madonna & Kylie Minogue 'Edge Of Saturday Night' remix contest. I took the tune & gave is retro electro feel with with a modern funky twist. I really like the remix & Kylie's vocal are amazing (as you'd expect). Needless to say I didn't win the comp & I'm fully expecting this remix to get taken down at some point so grab it for free whilst you can!

In 2015 I released ‘Old Skool Ting’ on the awesome Perth (Western Australia) based Rump Shaker Records. A great break beat label run by The Beatslappaz. I can’t quite believe it been a decade since it came out! Over the last couple of years I’ve been reconnecting with my UK rave culture roots, which lead to me putting together ‘My Rave Tape' (https://soundcloud.com/d-funk/myravetape), a mix that features my favourite & most influential tunes from my raving days in the 90s. Over the years made a few remixes of some of those tunes, like Awesome 3 - ‘Don’t Go' (which is also a free download: https://soundcloud.com/d-funk/d-funk-vs-awesome-3-dont-go-d-funk-mix-free-download). I decided to take another look at my tune ‘Old Skool Ting’ & give it a proper re-make. Switch up the beats, adding new synths & vocal samples. It bangs & now it can be yours for free!

Now what the?

New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based Lance Ferguson is a producer, songwriter, guitarist, radio broadcaster, DJ and recording artist.

He divides his time between releasing Pop/Electronica under his LANU guise, leading Australia’s premier Soul/Funk outfit THE BAMBOOS, lending his production, songwriting and guitar skills to a multitude of artists and broadcasting his radio show Sky High on ABC Double J.
He has produced over 25 full-length albums and 50 singles for labels including Atlantic, Universal, Warner, Sony, Tru Thoughts (UK), Ubiquity (USA), Inertia (Aus), Freestyle (UK), and his very own imprint Pacific Theatre.

Lance has been nominated for five Aria Awards and three APRA Music Awards.

In 2016 Ferguson's skills as a songwriter, lyricist and guitar riff-ologist achieved bonafide global recognition with the song 'This Girl' by Kungs vs Cookin' On 3 Burners. Reaching Top Five status in 29 countries around the world, the song went to Number One in 10 countries - achieving Diamond, Multi-Platinum, Platinum and Gold certification status in 11 countries including U.S.A, U.K, France and Germany. It has currently had 349,000,000 Spotify streams and 197,000,000 YouTube plays.
