Roberta Flack was and still is one of the most iconic performers of all time. Everything that she touched was pure magic. Many of her songs are part of my life's soundtrack, including this one! From the '80s movie soundtrack, Bustin' Loose, this track was a minor hit when released, but became an underground dance classic. Why an official remix was never done is beyond me, but here's Underdog Edits to the rescue! Only subtle adjustments were made with some nice '80s dub elements to boot. Enjoy this exclusive from the Underdog Edits archives. And.... rest in power, to our beloved soul queen, Roberta Flack. Your music will live forever! One Love!

Here's another one of my personal edits that I've never planned on releasing in the Underdog vinyl series. This is more of a DJ tool that I love to throw into a set as a surprise, for those who know!
The Music Box was one of my musical sanctuaries, growing up as a Chicago club kid. And Ron Hardy held court every Saturday night! It's interesting that he's looked upon as a DJ deity today (as he should!), but to experience him live was something that you can't describe.... and never forget!
Breaking new sounds was his thing. During those early years of musical experiments that would later form the foundation of what we know today as House Music, he introduced his "children" to sounds of Europe. Records that you would never think that would be played in a black gay dance club in Chicago!
Liaisons Dangereuses was one of those sounds that caught people by surprise! Of course, Los Niños Del Parque is their signature song that cemented their place in dance music history, but this song has always put me in another head space.
Ron played this often over a drum track, most notably Faces Drums (a very rare early electronic breakbeat album, if you can find it, cop it!) and it would send the crowd in a tizzy!
This rework recreates that and is my tribute to the one of the dance clubs that mole me and the legendary DJ that I'm still learning from.

Unknown Artist - Lucidus (Bruno Schmidt Edit)

Here's another one of my personal edits that I've never planned on releasing in the Underdog vinyl series.
It's interesting what you may find in the "Dollar Bins" in a record store! In fact, some of my best edits have come from these dusty finds. There are true hidden gems that would go otherwise unnoticed or cared. This is definitely one of them!
Geno Washington is an American R&B singer who released five albums with the Ram Jam Band between 1966 and 1969, and eight solo albums beginning in 1976.
He later became a in-demand studio vocalist in L.A., even did an unreleased project with The Beach Boys!
Fun fact: he's the uncle of '90s R&B crooner Keith Washington!
I stumbled on to his album, That's Why Hollywood Loves Me, complete with some solid ballads and funky up-tempo joints, but this cut was a true stand out!
Giving it some much needed percussion breaks and some tactful extensions, this turned out to be one of my favourite edits! 
Obscure , but funked out!

From a very young age, Florent, also known as FLO DJ Chic, was immersed in Hip-Hop and RNB music. Since then, he has fully shared his passion and talent for DJing through his FIREMIX mix series, which has garnered widespread acclaim. He remains an RNB DJ for clubs and dreams of becoming one of the top DJs, a resident on FG DJ RADIO for RNB CHIC nights. Supported and persevering, he continues to hone his mixes, hoping to one day find his place among the elite, the established stars of French DJing.

Spikey is known for having started DJing back in the mid 80's, playing at pubs and house parties. In the early days of Rave he then progressed to play the underground scene at clubs such as Sterns and Empire. Having then moved to Brighton he gained residency for 'The English Disco Lovers’. 
He now has his own radio show. Music To Make Your Ears Smile,  on 1BTN and has close ties with the 'Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Charity'. Having a love for delivering sound in its purest form which has lead to a close connection with Funktion One. This has given Spikey the chance to play at Glastonbury many times.

I am a DJ/Producer based in New Orleans, LA, mixing and experimenting with various forms of electronic dance music. I enjoying finding obscure and uniquely composed EDM and love exposing them to various audiences, giving then an alternative perspective to the genre than to what they hear on the radio and other mainstream outlets.

I believe that EDM/IDM is more that feet movers. It's also about emotion and firing up the imagination. It's about taking mental field trips without the aid of hallucinogens.It's a genre that always inspires and fascinates me and I hope to share that by playing various cuts to share with the public and hopefully, develop cuts of my own.
