Create 003 (Classics 1994 - 2004)

Really Great is one of those tracks I started a long long time ago... just fragments of the original idea now. A drum loop off my old mpc, a chopped vocal, a mood I couldn’t name. I sat on it like I do, just to forget about it, then pulled it out of the archive and mashed it back together with some fresh samples and a new trick or two.

It’s lo-fi house, techno-adjacent, whatever. Banging kick, tucked hats, and a vocal of sorts. Real loopy... maybe even meditative. Doesn’t rush anything. It takes its time getting where it’s going, but it gets there. Atmosphere more than anthem. A little cracked, a little submerged, but it is what it is.

Call it "lo-fi sample house" if you need to label it. I just call it Really Great.

The summer of 2020 was the strangest I experienced. About 7 months ago we booked the campside for Luminosity Beach Festival 2020, 4 days of Trance on the beach, we were so excited... It was a bit different ;)

Lange is recognised as one of the most influential dance artists of the past two decades; as well as helping to define the trance genre in his early career, he is also a DJ who has remained at the forefront of the scene and a producer that has continued to push boundaries.
