The newest release on Pulsar Recordings is a two-part production by an artist who’s no stranger to the label: French Skies.

The first part, ‘Across the World’, is a heavenly uplifting tune that builds up steadily, with a driving bassline that rolls along towards the gradual rise of the pads, before a rapid synth jumps in and takes the listeners by surprise, all accompanied by the “aah”s of the vocals in the background.

Organically, a soft piano melody works its way in, before the sounds collapse in the breakdown, where the listeners are confronted with the beautiful sounds of nature, and the melody returns, holding the listeners’ hands and taking them on a trip around the world, across the forests and meadows and oceans, finally taking off, leaving the listeners soaring the skies.

The second part, ‘Great Ancient Sea’, is a more rhythmic and energetic track, with a punchier kick and bassline, along with a faster, happier echoing melody that runs towards the ocean and takes a deep dive, leading the listeners on a journey into the underwater world.

As the surrounding sounds die out, so too does the melody, diving deeper and deeper, before the synth takes its place and flies out of the water, gliding along the ocean.

Resident DJ Vernski from Australia

DJ Vernski has always had a love for music and from a very young age was exposed to Classical music from Mozart, Beethoven and Handel. Having been born in Colombia, his mother also would play traditional South American music in the home. This is where the love of music was born.
DJ Vernski is a relative new comer to the underground electronic music scene, based in the warm tropics of Darwin Australia, he has been working hard over the last couple of years. His podcast project Trancefusions has been pivotal to Vernski's growth as a DJ and during that time he has managed to attract several underground DJ's & producers. Artists such as Alessandro Spaiani, Skober, Adam Thomas (Facade) and Static Movement have been guest DJ's. Vernski has also received support from the likes of Manu Riga, Daniel Lesden and trance legends Airwave & The Digital Blonde
DJ Vernski has established a residency at Darwin Waterfront's Precinct Tavern and has been able to bring an element of underground progressive to a broader audience through the Beer Garden Parties held throughout the dry season. Vernski has also been part of the underground music festival - Agathering
There are a few projects in the pipeline for 2017, all of it is centred around enriching the electronic music scene locally in Darwin.

The first single to be taken from his forthcoming debut artist album, ‘Frozen Ground’ reunites ilan Bluestone with British singer / songwriter Giuseppe De Luca. 

Since joining the label in 2014, ilan has been at the forefront of the evolving trance sound. With an ear for hooky instrumentals, organic chords and dance floor minded productions, the likes of ‘Big Ben’, ‘Spheres’ and ’43’ became euphoric moments in DJ sets for the likes of Above & Beyond and Armin Van Buuren.

A prolific touring artist, ilan has headlined the Anjunabeats North American tour in 2016 and 2017 as well as joining Above & Beyond at Madison Square Garden and Sydney’s All Phones Arena.

The follow up to ilan and Giuseppe’s breakout hit ‘Bigger Than Love’, ‘Frozen Ground’ was debuted during Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 200 show in a sold out 13,000 capacity Ziggo Dome.

For Giuseppe, inspiration for the song came after he joined ilan on stage at EDC, “there’s something about witnessing a sea of people gathered together to feel something that really helps to warp the borders of reality. I had this Brechtian idea of a specific sound, that when heard, would snap the listener out of their everyday veneer and allow them to connect with who they truly are. On Frozen Ground, I feel that sound, forever."

Fluorescence is an uplifting driven Trance tune with a beautiful classical breakdown and massive build up.

French Skies - Fluorescence (Original Mix) [Club Nation Records]

French Skies returns to Pulsar Recordings following the release of his single ‘Hieroglyph’, this time with an EP, entitled Calista, comprised of two original tracks and a remix.

The title track of the new release is a fast-tempo’d emotional tune that takes off with a looping melody. Slowly moving towards a drop that brings in echoing sounds, the tune eventually turns to a calm piano melody accompanied by orchestral instruments in the breakdown.

During the uplift, the melodic loop jumps back in, rapidly rising towards the skies and leading to a drop that will get the listeners pumping their feet to the beat.

Blue Tente’s take on the track is an even more emotional and uplifting version, with an underlying bass, and a sharp piano melody that leads the way from the get-go and into the melodic loop, followed by a heavily-instrumented emotional breakdown - all building a smooth journey that leads straight into an epic, mind-blowing uplift. Following the drop, the piano melody comes back in, slowing the listeners towards a calm stop.

‘Sun Dream’ is a more tension-filled track that starts with a driving bass and is slowly taken over by a synth that constantly rises and leads towards a bright, upbeat melody. This is followed by a short breakdown that slowly moves towards the climax as the synth and bass return, leading to a heavy drop, bringing back all the sounds that dance in chaotic harmony.
