Junktion is a producer based in Netherlands. 

It's been several years since the producer and dj (one of the two members of the duo Fouk) squats the charts, with some releases on labels like Outplay Records, of which he is the co-founder, Slow Town Records, Times Are Ruff, Razor -Tape. 

He writes himself on his Soundcloud page : "The deeper side of house and everything that goes with it is my thing." It sounds pretty self-explanatory!

Q: Hi Emiel, thank you for taking us on this musical journey. How would you describe this podcast episode in your own words?

This podcast is all about spreading love through House and Disco music! These current times call for music that puts a smile on your face and so I tried to do that! It starts fairly slowly and groovy and gradually goes into some bangin’ disco/housy music.

Q: Could you tell us about an artist that has made a significant impact on you as a DJ?

For me, that is Motor City Drum Ensemble. His smooth appearance in combination with his superb DJ-ing skills makes him into one of my favorite DJs. Before him, I thought that you (as a DJ) should have one “style” and you have to DJ banger after banger. He showed me that you, as a DJ, can take your audience on a journey, with all different kinds of music styles combined. He (and Hunee for example) really take you on a musical journey with all different kinds of energy levels + music styles, amazing! 

Q: What is the most magical moment you've experienced yourself on a dancefloor?

The most amazing moment for me was seeing Stephan Bodzin Live at Zeezout Festival (in 2016 I believe). It was one of my first outdoor Techno/House festivals, and everything was lined up perfectly. The sun was setting during his set, the lights started to work, and it was 1,5H of pure joy and screaming for me! Never forget that feeling…

Q:What is your favorite closing track?

My favorite closing Track, depending on the type of set of course, is Lovin Is Really My Game – Brainstorm (it’s the sample from Floorplan – Tell You No Lie, which is also a great closing track by the way!). The energy on that track is simply amazing! Really hard to mix though with its 150BPM.. but challenges are always nice
