The story of the song

The story tells of Suna and Fahri, a couple bound by a deep love for each other, and how this great love ends in a deeply tragic way.

Suna and Mr. Fahri are a married couple who love each other dearly. In the time they lived, going to the Turkish bath (hamam) was a beloved pastime among women. All the women would gather, go to the bath together, and hold cheerful gatherings.

During one such bathhouse gathering, when Suna undresses, her close friend Neriman notices a mole on her back that she had never seen before. It catches her attention, and later that day, when she returns home, she tells her husband about the mole on Suna’s back.

One day, at the local coffeehouse, Fahri and Neriman’s husband get into a heated argument. During the quarrel, Neriman’s husband insults Fahri harshly — even mentioning the mole on his wife’s back. Shocked and humiliated, Fahri cannot believe what he hears.

He rushes home and confronts Suna. Although he eventually believes her, his attitude toward her changes — the same passion and affection no longer remain. This emotional distance deeply wounds Suna’s heart day by day.

When she finally realizes she can no longer bear this pain, Suna writes a farewell letter to her husband and takes her own life by hanging herself. When Fahri returns home from work, he finds his wife’s lifeless body. Stricken with grief and remorse, he begins to sing the words of the folk song that later becomes famous — right there, beside her body.

It's structured as a companion for film, meditation, vision seeking & sound rest.

It's by nature a nature worship record, combing acoustic percussive improvisation, sensory foley, vocalized staccatos, and a specific brew of physical/metaphysical sound relations....mind hush/thought flush/spirit rush/sun rise.

Inspired by an initiation ceremony of the Bwiti/Fang people of Gabon. This collection relays a fragmented branch of timings of this ceremony. Plus proposes alter paths for the sacred (Mougongo) instrument.

Recoded + Restructured + Reflected as a time capsule.

With fullest respect/blessings to breeze the Bwiti understandings through current climate.
