Neues Jahr, neue Musik und diesmal freuen wir uns besonders einen Mann mit exzellentem Musikgeschmack bei uns willkommen zu heissen. Seine Mixe und seine Produktionen sind vielgehört und haben über die Landesgrenzen Aufmerksamkeit erregt. 

Die Jazzplatten seines Vaters sind an allem schuld. Seither hat Daniel Imhof die Liebe für Musik nie mehr losgelassen. In dreissig Jahren hat er einen Schuhkarton voller Partyflyer zusammengespielt. Dass er Schubladen für Socken bevorzugt und weniger für Musikgenres, bewies er über zwanzig Jahre lang in der Radio Rabe-Sendung «Supernova». 

Inzwischen hat er in seinem Schlafzimmerstudio die Magie der elektrischen Spannung entdeckt und produziert auf seinen Modular Gerätschaften Musik, die irgendwo zwischen maximalen Soundscapes und minimalistischen Rhythmusmustern schwebt. In seiner neuen Rabe-Sendung «Voyage» taucht er einmal im Monat, am Sonntag von 8-10, in die Welt des Ambient ein. Dann heisst es: Kopfhörer auf. Hinlegen. Driften. Genau das empfehlen wir auch für das Mixtape, welches er exklusiv für Sinneswandel aufgenommen hat! Aber lasst Euch selbst einwickeln und entführen!

Aus seiner Affinität zu Saw-waves macht @caspimo kein Geheimnis.
Seinen Sound beschreibt er mal down, mal hüpfend aber auch melodisch.
 
Musik ist für Caspímo ein guter Ausgleich zum Altäglichen. 
In ihr kann er sich ausprobieren und verlieren.
„Musik bewegt mich generell und das ist auch immer mein Ziel, dass meine eigene Musik etwas in mir bewegt.“
 
Außerhalb des Musikschaffens nimmt die gewerkschaftliche Arbeit einen Teil seines Lebens ein.
„Aktuell beschäftigten mich tatsächlich die Tarifrunden im öffentlichen Dienst. 
Allgemeiner gesagt, die Ausbeutung von Beschäftigten und der Kampf, Arbeitsrechte zu stärken und zu wahren.“

Endlos Podcast # 061 - Caspímo

⫷ Kiskă. ⫸ I am thrilled to share the set I played at Lusatia Festival! A bit nervous at the beginning, I relaxed while the journey unfolded. In the end, I loved every second. Seeing you all dancing and letting go in the cozy & smoky Wooden Hut stage made me super happy. I loved the intimacy we shared for a moment under this big octopus above our heads! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This set is an ode to Freedom, a tribute to Kiska and Tokitae, two orcas who recently died alone in their tank after 50 years of captivity.

For the story, Kiska was captured from the wild in 1979, when she was only 3 years old. She spent much of her captive life performing alongside other orcas, but by November 2011 Kiska found herself to be the last remaining captive orca in Canada. Having outlived all of Marineland’s captives, including five of her own calves, Kiska was left all alone, not only in complete isolation from her own species, but also any suitable companion species too. As incredibly social, tactile animals who form close bonds, the absence of another orca or any companion at all was incredibly alien to Kiska. She had been left to run herself down, swimming in circles and logging listlessly, while her calls and vocalizations went unanswered for 11 years! 

Kiska was robbed of her wild family to serve a billion-dollar industry, only to end up unwanted and alone at a rundown marine park until her body couldn’t take it anymore.

44 years in total of a torturous lifelong imprisonment where only in death Kiska found freedom. Tokitae, known as Lolita, had the same fate after 50 years of imprisonment, not long after the decision of sending her to a sanctuary was taken. But too late…

As a conscious artivist, I’m endorsing the role of being an advocate for the voiceless and I chose music as an art expression as it conveys a lot within the vibration of each tone. And words for their vibrational power too.

I invite you to dive deep within my musical interpretation of what Kiska’s and Tokitae could have expressed throughout various emotions. I wish to thank all producers for their amazing creations and bringing this set to life.

Orcas inspire my dreams to expand my musical project to a bigger scale to be at service of the Ocean and its inhabitants.

Boah is das heiss! Bei dem Wetterchen dreht‘s einem doch glatt die Lockenwickler wieder aus der Frise.
Da hilft nur eins, ab zu Harry‘s Eisbude und nen kaltes Gelato holen. Lecker Schmecker geht‘s dann ab unter die schattigen Bäume, und zwar mit der Hängematte.

Zum Glück haben wir da genau das richtige um erst gar nicht ins schwitzen zu kommen. 
Mit schön reduzierter Drehzahl vom Ventilator weht uns eine feine Brise Gelassenheit entgegen. Ein kurzer Blick rüber zum Ventilator und siehe da, gekonnt lässig reguliert @spak heute heimlich die drei Geschwindigkeitsstufen der Propellerumdrehungen.
