Whilst one half of the world slept peacefully beneath the stars the other were running riot, cutting deals and playing wild. Nocturnal animals were the chaotic breed which ruled the earth, little say did the innocent have in the future of the planet and the unruly conduct. Somewhere up in the sky there was a plan for this hell bound mess of a civilization, but for now it was quite simply left to its own devices to reap destruction and wicked vision upon the weak. 

Airaboi is a musician whom we have supported for some time at Ransom Note. It has been wonderful to watch him develop as an artist, moving from strength to strength. His latest release on C.E.E. is by far his strongest to date.

Underground dance music culture in Seoul is on the rise. More and more clubs are
emerging and parties representing different tastes and values are diversifying the scene.

서울의 언더그라운드 댄스 뮤직 문화는 현제 많은 발전이 이뤄지고 있습니다. 기존과는 다른 스타일의
클럽들과 파티들이 생겨나고 있으며 이런 움직임들이 신을 더 다양하게 만들어가고 있습니다.

As a result, Seoul-based DJs and producers have formed crew collectives to make their
musical identities stronger. 'Hazed & Confucius’ is one of these dedicated crews. Their aim is to allow hazy Lo-Fi, crunchy leftfield house and raw techno music to have a strong presence amidst Seoul’s many shades.

그런 결과로, 서울을 중심으로 활동하는 디제이들과 프로듀서들은 본인들의 색깔을 더 강하게 나타내고
활동하기 위해서 크루를 만들기 시작하였습니다. ‘Hazed & Confucius’는 그런 크루들중 하나로서, 그
들의 목표는 몽환적이고 Lo-Fi한, 그리고 거친느낌의 레프트필드 하우스와 테크노를 서울의 신에 안정
적으로 정착시키는데 있습니다.

In this compilation, Hazed & Confucius have curated 6 tracks from Seoul-based artists
who are emblematic of their unique identity. DJ / Producers DJ Bowlcut, Adam Emil,
Jazzy Rhythmer, Jae Young, Purvitae and Anchore all contribute and spent time a
sizeable amount of studio time together to make this compilation a true document of how
they see their future local house music scene develop.

이번 컴필레이션에서, Hazed & Confucius는 서울을 거점으로 활동하는 여섯명의 아티스트들의 트랙
을 발표합니다. DJ Bowlcut, Adam Emil, Jazzy Rhythmer, Jae Young, Purvitae 그리고 Anchore
의 트랙들로서, 그동안 이들이 스튜디오와 파티에서 서로 같이 미래의 서울 하우스 뮤직을 만들기 위해
교류했던 시간들의 흔적입니다.

'My grandma went blind before I was born. She knows who I am and she knows my voice better than I do. I believe the “Jing" in her mind is a deeper version of myself, and one I aim to keep on discovering.’
Discovering a passion for music from an early age whilst working in a music store in Taipei, Taiwanese creative, electronic live performer, DJ and composer Jing writes short stories and produces musical soundscapes to convey them - like a short film without the visuals, the opposite of a silent movie. Completing her latest project a year after its inception, ’Adularescence’ will be released on 12" via Steve Bicknell’s 6dimensions on February 8th. The label, recently nominated in the 'Breakthrough Label' category of DJ Mag's 'Best of British’ poll, uses philosophy of the human mind as a conceptual starting point for its output. 
Jing aims to take the listener on an intense journey, challenging her audience by providing a unique environment without seeing it with their own eyes. If visuals are no longer present, can we hear a deeper story? While the content of ‘Adularescence’ is colourful, it represents a black and white cult-classic filled with emotions. It is accompanied by a short story on its sleeve, a narrative to its 12 experimental parts, taking the listener on an unforgettable trip. Dark, psychedelic sounds permeate the eardrum, a beautiful and disturbing concoction of images relating to the text. Jing herself pictures a suffocating man who cannot scream.
In order to pursue her curiosity of music Jing realised she would need to relocate to Europe. Following her life's natural path she cemented foundations through encounters along the way, and shortly after arriving in Berlin, formed an electronic dream pop band ‘Polygothica' with close friend Dilijana. She is also a member of the performance collective UNDO alongside Bifi Boy, Birds and Tapes, DJ Nytanata, Otto Oscar Hernandez Ruiz and visual artist Christian Starz, creating environments in various cities to host UNDO's experiments.
Jing has performed at numerous underground events, festivals and clubs, including Fusion, Nacht Digital, Kranichie, West Germany, De School, Korner and Organik Festival to name a few. Drawing on an array of influences, cult films and fiction, Jing is an explorer, out to share her creations……

For a number of years Lapsus Records has closely followed the career of producer Gacha Bakradze and has kept in touch with an artist who previously participated on the "DEU" compilation (Lapsus Records, 2014) with the track "Blackout", under his more ambient moniker, Winter Flags. It was therefore simply a matter of time before a record collaboration materialized in the form of "Word Color", a nine-song mini-LP in which Gacha gives free rein to his most introspective electronica. 

This imaginative producer from Tbilisi (Georgia) has deservedly earned plaudits throughout the European scene, becoming a mainstay of the Belgian label Apollo –a sub label of R&S Records, a fundamental label in the development of underground electronic music over the last three decades-, for whom he has released half a dozen releases to date, receiving reviews from prestigious publications including Pitchfork and Resident Advisor. Furthermore, since 2015 Gacha has combined his facet as producer with the running of his own label Transfigured Time. 

"Word Color" is a cinematic arrangement of captivating melodies, rhythmic experimentation, textured landscapes and micro-vocal samples. Gacha has once again reinvented his musical ideology, bestowing it with mood defining authenticity and excitement, through superbly and dextrously programmed rhythms and harmonies. Songs like "Leaf", "Oneself" and "Stray" travel into ethereal wastelands and are ambient soundscape pieces replete with nuances and unexpected twists. "Word Color" also makes room for beats, with the low pulse of jungle rhythms in "The Prayer"; IDM and electro fusion in "Word Color"; and even the sound of hi-tech breaks in "Saphri Rocks".

Amsterdam-based duo DJ Windows XP provide the next EP for Live Ones, serving up apple infused, sample driven rhythms that’ll pop cherries you never knew you had.
The pair have previously offered provoking selections on DJ Haus’ imprint E-Beamz and the Amsterdam based Who’s Susan to high acclaim.
The biggest contradiction is that none of their music is actually produced on a Windows computer - and quite rightly so. What will come next from the duo depends entirely on whether they finally decide to perform that software update.
