Next up for CKFM we have Edinburgh based DJ, noodle. "This mix was inspired by those early 00’s compilation CDs which were one seamless, continuous mix and soundtracked countless train journeys growing up. The CDs always seemed to have hyper-sexualised women throwing their heads back in ecstasy on the cover and evoked some kind of sleazy, flirty feeling within. This mix opens with progressive house and evolves into a journey of tribal-infused tech house from its’ golden era: the late 90’s and early 00’s. Percussion and groove-heavy bassline puncture throughout before finishing on euphoric house cuts. Tech house can be a bit of a dirty word these days, and I wish there was more appreciation for its original roots before it became commercialised."

GRDN DJ, EHFM resident and Subterranean Sound curator, noodle is constantly digging the internet for new sounds that feed her obsession with euphoric house, stripped back minimal and even slippery dubstep. Flo co-founded Laib und Seele Records in 2019 during his search of self-realisation, which landed him a residency at Netil Radio London. In 2020, he initiated Traumburg Festival with close friends. Since the beginning, he placed a special focus on a unique curation and booking, which our crew at VK always appreciated. Most recently, Flo founded his own booking agency Noise Neighbours. His creative output is shared with his alias DJ Very Well.

The entity known as ‘Box Elder’ has been a longstanding contributor to the Ngunnawal scene for many years. Whether it’s through his work as one-fifth of Gross Motor Play, his raucous house party sets or his many club/doof performances, Mr Box has had many fingers in many proverbial pies. Now Eora based, the semi-retired DJ returns for a rare mix for Chalkboard that has been described by some as “proggy, swampy, trancy goodness” and described by his own mother as “harsh to the ears”.
